I know this has been asked before but my hair is going grey and my attempts to keep it at bay are failing. I'm mid 40's, naturally brunette, dark brown eyes, fair complexion.
I've been dying hair at home for last few years as can't really afford maintenance at hairdressers. To keep on top of grey I need to colour every three weeks but with home dye I find colour too dark on ends and roots too light. I use garnier nutrisse creme ( mid light brown I think). Looks ok for a few days but starts fading fairly quickly and end up with an orangey reddish tone.
Tried highlights a few years ago but thought they looked brassy. Can anyone recommend anything, think I need a hairdresser to colour it but would like something that is lower maintenance than every three to four weeks.
