Can anyone recommend a serum without silicones?

My hair tends to frizz, but because I don't use shampoo with SLS I'm trying not to use products with silicone/dimethicone etc. I keep seeing argan oil recommended and serum, but Frizzease etc contain silicone, and all the argan oils available on the high street seem to have dimethicone and similar in them. Can anyone recommend one without, preferably not one that will break the bank?

I am on a silicone free rampage at the moment too, trying to rid the house of toxic things. I am loving the John Masters shampoo and conditioners, no frizz afterwards, expensive though. I use pure Argan oil, I got on Amazon here

Be warned you only need a few drops and only put it on the ends. The first few times I put way too much on and looked like someone who had never washed my hair ever!

I buy pure organic Argan oil from Naissance on Amazon or ebay. Cheap as chips as well. Grin

I have some dead cheap ones from Home Bargains I think - coconut and argan oil. They're nice.

They also do a pure argan oil serum (different brand) which is good, although personally it sits on the top of my hair unless I mix it with gel first.

I think I need to check when I get home though, I can't remember.

Thanks Smile The pure argan oil from Amazon looks great, I'll try that.

The only one I ever found is more of a cream then a serum and it was in the 'naked' range that you can buy in boots.

I have an aveda hair oil that I think is silicone free- don't have the box any more. It's okay.

Tanaqui · 16/04/2015 20:42

Yes just googled and it is silicone free, and smells nice!

Great, thanks, I'll have a look at it.

I use plain jojoba oil- works better than all the serums on my frizzy hair and I think it's improved the health of my hair!

People who just use oil, do you not find it makes your hair look greasy?

Second John Masters Organics. The Citrus & Neroli detangler can be used as a leave-in conditioner so that's what I use as a serum. I was & condition with Giovanni Eco chic, and use a tiny blob of the john masters before I blow dry

Bumble and Bumble do a good leave in conditioner is a bit pricy tho.

Umberto Giannini does a good silicone free gel. Put it on soaking wet hair, diffuse slightly and will give you defined curls.

I love the Liz Earle hair oil which I find serumy rather than oily, IYSWIM

Happy hair days have just started doing serum. I like it so far. I like their shampoos too. Very light and kind to scalp.
