Dress for a summer wedding

MildDrPepperAddiction · 16/04/2015 11:39

We have a family wedding this summer and I need a new dress. I've looked in next, monsoon, oasis and can't find anything I like.

I'm only 5'1" so I need something that won't drown me. I'm a size 12 with a few wobbly bits, but a reasonable enough figure (I think!).

Any suggestions?

Coast and Banana republic both have petite sections that might be worth a look.

Thanks Burnished. I'll have a look on their websites.

Billie & Blossom do lovely summery dresses at DP. They are belted tea dresses that cover your upper arms, nip you in at the waist and skim your tummy/hips!

Look at the general JLS site, it's great for wedding guest dresses

What are the opinions on these two?

www.lindybop.co.uk/all-dresses-c1/lucille-classy-1950s-vintage-inspired-style-rock-n-roll-party-dress-p157

Not sure which I prefer.

All other suggestions greatly appreciated!

Why don't you get both and see which one you like best when you put them on?
Flappy things freak me out (butterflies, birds etc...) even pictures so the 1st one would have me running a mile away.
Not sure of quality of Lindybop.
If they both have free returns then you've nothing to lose.

gotredonyou · 17/04/2015 09:07

I think the first one (whitestuff) is best for a wedding- love the print!

The white stuff dress is perfect for a summer wedding. The green one is more of an autumn wedding/christmas party dress IMO but I'm all about the pastels or summery brights at summer weddings, maybe monochrome at a push.

MildDrPepperAddiction · 17/04/2015 13:02

Thanks all, I think the white stuff dress is the front runner at the moment. I'll order and see what's it's like on.

Now for shoes. Are the wedges in the photo too casual for a wedding?
