Fine gauge vests perfect for layering? Where can I find?

I've always been a long vest and baggy top over skinny jeans kind of girl, but having spent years in primark cotton Lycra vests (which have always been a bargain), what I'd really like to find now is a better quality of layering vest. It's got to be fine gauge, and fitted but not as tight fitting as most basic vests are. Something that just floats below a top rather then cling to my legs. Any clues as to wher I may find such tops? I'm willing to pay up to around £20 per vest (a huge hike from my primark £2.50 a pop vests!) Grin

I quite like H&M vests. They are quite long, so good for layering. Might not be as thin as you would want but come in loads of colours and aren't mega £££

Uniqlo- about £7
sometimes £5 ish in the sale.
Also they do short and long sleeve in the same quality- I have tons.

Ps knickers also very nice- fine knit not baggy/too tight.

Matalan - might be a tad long for you but worth a look.

I'm this kinda girl too Grin

Mine are all h&m and some Primark but I prefer the h&m ones. One pink one I have I've been wearing for about 5yrs including through a pregnancy and it's still going strong! I want to replace it but can't find the same colour! Sad

Can't help with floaty-ness I'm afraid though mine are snug around my bum /tops of legs.

Have you tried DP's? or TopShop?
