Mint Velvet is it the greige lovers Per Una or naice? Can't decide.

I mean I am attracted to all the grieginess and muted what-not but is it the tiniest bit Per una with a touch of the 'I've still got it in a Loose Woman stylee' sappy biker.

I am Peri-menopausal and recognised I am becoming increasingly style challenged. Not enough to consider Boden 'culottes' golf shorts a great sartorial offering, mind.

So what do you think? Am I starting down a crusty path with the greige fondness or it is stylish?

Dull as.

Peanutstash10 · 17/04/2015 21:32

noodd phase 8?

gonegrey56 · 17/04/2015 21:37

Their black jeans from last winter are incredibly flattering. I have lived in mine and only wish the style ( Seattle) had been continued .

nooddsocksforme · 17/04/2015 21:48

peanut -too weddingy/jaque vert

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/04/2015 21:55

No to Phase 8. Their stuff is about as far removed from the way I want to dress as it is possible to get, although I do have one old silk dress from there that has been good.

I like a few bits in Whistles but it's obscenely expensive and mostly polyester.

There isn't a single shop I can think of that I'd be happy to buy a whole wardrobe from tbh.

burnishedsilver · 17/04/2015 23:25

Me either Remus. It makes shopping very time consuming.

ElizabethHoover · 17/04/2015 23:26

Zara for me

ElizabethHoover · 17/04/2015 23:27

Or uniqlo. But I'd be very very plain

AppleYumYum · 18/04/2015 00:38

I just cannot stand all the polyester and acrylic around, it's just awful and some think that belongs in Primark. Whistles astonishes me with the prices they charge for cheap, nasty materials. I like the White Company and will pay their prices as the things are usually cotton or wool.

I gave up even looking at Mint Velvet as it was always polyester. I am always looking for 100% cotton or wool things. It is draining checking labels. Agree with previous posters that while good for cotton, Fat Face (why is it even called that, who came up with that for a name??) and White Stuff are too hippy chick dorky. I often type cotton into ASOS and go down a rabbit hole of discovering new brands that do nice cotton clothes. Liking Chinti and Parker at the moment.

I like the 'look' of Zara and do occasionally buy online from them as I'm more of an online shopper as I live 30 miles from nearest store.
I think I actually buy more from Mango though , again online and mostly via John lewis.
I tend to buy a lot of clothes from John Lewis either online or there is a large store about 20 miles away.
So Mint Velvet, Mango, occasionally Whistles,Jigsaw, all the brands that they stock.
I've had success at uniqlo, again online, git lovely Breton dress ,tees, Cardigan etc.
Agree with Elizabeth it's very plain though!
I've just bought Mint Velvet 'posh' joggers in cream that are lovely thoughGrin

I think it's a case of choosing bits from various shops to suit lifestyle.
I only work a few hours a week and am a nurse so don't need Hobbs power suits!

ElizabethHoover · 18/04/2015 10:57

me too ALWAYS online, I dont live near one, i CBA to try stuff on. Their online delivery is much improved and returns easy.
I think i have to get over the polyester thing

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/04/2015 13:48

What on earth are posh joggers?

Nearly everything I'm wearing today is from M&S. You have to search much, much harder nowadays in there, but there is the occasional gem in cotton or silk, and I virtually live in their skinnies for casual.

pinkfrocks · 18/04/2015 14:01

Georgina what do you mean by 'posh joggers'?
I bought these are they the same?

Sorry been put in the spring sunshineSmile
Yes they are my posh joggers pink
Funny material though, not jersey.
Thinking about it my most successful MV purchases have been jeans or trousers.
