I really want some nice shoes/trainers. But I don't like anything. Can you recommend a brand or shoes you love? I like flattish shoes, my more recent brands have been camper (too flat) and clarks originals style shoes. I also like some ecco but they do look a bit grannyish. Can you think of other similar brands? I don't mind trainers but want to move away from the studenty, too casual look..

Vagabond. Swedish, more fashion-oriented than Ecco Wink but if you pick the right ones, they are both comfortable and stylish.
Geox. The majority are a bit too, ahem, mature, but one out of 20 of 50 pairs is both stylish and comfy.
Italian suede loafers from Yoox. Tod's are the expensive alternatives but there are lots of less-known high quality alternatives.

Strongly recommend Russell and Bromley for flats including great brogues and loafers. Trainers aren't so much their thing, though.

I also have several pairs of nice loafers ballet flats and other casual shoes including lace-ups from Geox.

Sorry just saw previous comment on Geox. Agee that, though super comfy, some are frumpy but not as high a proportion as all that . But I do pick the more stylish offerings each season from their shops in London or Italy ( they're an Italian brand). If I just went by the styles eg the John Lewis site pick out I don't think I'd ever have bothered!
