Bras with wider centre gore?

Hi, I've been reading the old bra threads and some bra blogs, trying to refine which styles to go for before ordering and hoping to get some advice from fitters or other Mumsnetters with a similar shape.

Mine are fuller at the bottom, slightly farther apart than average and extend a bit further under the armpit. It isn't very drastic, for years I've mostly worn Debenhams t-shirt bras: the fit isn't terrible, but these areas could be better. It sounds like a balconette is recommended, which I'm pleased about as I've always liked those anyway.

What are the best brands and models to fit this chest shape?

I haven't worn any bras apart from Debenhams basics and Agent Provocateur for years and I'm not likely to get to a big department store for months, so will be ordering online.

The size will probably be a 32D and trying sizes either side - measuring 31 underneath (but with a history of pain that means the tighter 30 option is unlikely to be wearable for long), and 36 around the fullest part when leaning over.

I get a bit of weight and size fluctuation. Most of the frequently recommended bras on blogs start at a D cup - but it would be useful to know about something that goes down to a C cup, so as not to have to look for a new brand and style of bra if I end up as a C at some point.

I have wide set breasts (at least three finger widths apart), about the same size than yours. Not sure about the availability in the UK and what their current offerings look like but balconette styles from Maidenform have been the best fitting ones I've ever found. Sizing is American but the fit is great Wink

Thanks. Unfortunately Maidenform only seems to sell shapewear in the UK, judging by what I've seen on several department store and underwear sites in the last few days.

Bravissimo recommended a few models of bra when I asked. (Like a few other people on these bra threads, I've had those 'me? in Bravissimo?' moments.)

And I found these lists on Bratabase, might be useful to others of similar size and shape. They include all of the models Bravissimo recommended (but which I haven't tried on yet) and one I'd bought 6 years ago in a different size and liked (Lepel Fiore).

www.bratabase.com/list/7rv/ (aimed at 28D - 34DD)
www.bratabase.com/adventures/entry/2346/ (includes a list further down the page of suitable styles made in A-C cups).
