Is it offcially tights-off time?

I used to work in an office where a colleague would decree when this was, but now I am never sure when to do it. Easter is usually a benchmark tho.

I shaved my legs earlier this week and wore a skirt with bare legs on Wednesday and Thursday but that was for lolling about the house and doing Easter holiday stuff; now it's back to work (I work in a school) so I am not sure if that counts. Once it's done, you cannot go back - so have you gone for bare legs yet?

It's bloody freezing here.

Easter is usually my black opaques cut off point though, so it'll be nude, navy, lacy etc for me from now.

Bought summer dresses online Friday night to be worn with bare legs, but since then the weather's gone to shit. So no.

Gone relly cold today - I've just put my hoodie on, on top of my sweatshirt, so I won't be going anywhere bare legged tomorrow.
That said, I was in 3/4 lengths last week.

No no no ladies, we cannot go with the flow on this one. Once the tights have gone they have gone. A possible compromise involves smart trousers with ballet flats.

Must say it's been a bit bobbins this weekend (tho I have a shockingly red face after Saturday's all-dayer at an athletics comp - it was raining at 9am, honest). But last week was sunny and warm. Forecast good for next week too. Hmm

Haha Clary, I'm the same, no going back once they're off. I'm planning on carrying on with my opaques for now, have a hideously early start tomorrow and a long commute by train. Might reconsider later i the week.

God no, bare legs for me is pretty much June, July and August only!

This type of weather when it's too warm for tights but too cold for bare legs, I tend to stick to trousers.

Jeans or chinos at home, smarter trousers for work.

Still too cold. I'll wait until May.

I can only go tightless during May, June, July and at a push, August. Around this time of year I usually stick to hold-ups to ward off sweaty doot whilst keeping the legs warm- Pretty Polly Naturals are very good.

It has been gorgeous but bloody hail stones yesterday and an icey wind!! No bare legs here!!!

And shoes? Too warm for boots, def not sandal weather. And I hate shoes as all mine hurt my feet and my commute involves a 3.5 mile daily walk. I wore ballet flats last friday and my feet kepot me cawake all night with the pain! Help!

I'm normally in flip flops by the end of April.

As it was so warm earlier on this week I bought some emergency flip flops as I felt it was only right to get the toes out.

I apologise because I am sure my emergency flip flop purchase caused the weather to go wampy and I've reverted to hoodies and totes toasties.

This is the dilemma! I don't know. I think people would find April fine to be bare legged in in northern Europe if it's a modesty thing.
I was sweltering in mine the other day- had to keep them on though cos I wouldn't have time to change before it got cold again outside in the evening.
Think from now on I'll try no tights but then I'm a sweaty overheating kind of person. Different for others probably.

emergency flip flops

It was really warm in scotland over the last week with the exception of yesterday. Winter had returned!!!

Everyone is my office has now transitioned into nude/clear tights. Prompting numerous debates about the correct shade, we'd rather look 'duchess of Cambridge' than 'American tan'!

Every year I face this same dilemma. Here's a left field suggestion - leggings or footless black tights with bare ankles, ballet flats, loafers etc.

I have done this and it works for transition time. Also don't forget the nude fishnet. There, I said it.

I've bagged up the black tights and ankle boots and gonna have to be nude tights with shoes for work this term. I will miss my flat boots though! Need to shop for some smarter flat shoes now!

LOL - I was just about to start a thread asking the same thing. Opaques feel just too wintery right now.

But I agree, once you've gone, you can't go back.... my legs are being prepped for the summer (fake tan, loads of moisturiser and removal of the winter plumage ), but I don't know whether I will regret taking the plunge this early.

My office is pretty warm, and I don't have far to walk from the car park, but even so....

I will probably chicken out and wear trousers for a couple of weeks until I can dare to bare.

I think you can go back and forth as many times as the weather and/or your outfit requires.

The same with heating. You can turn it back on if it suddenly gets chilly.
