Shorts to wear under summer dresses (possibly control?!)

Hi, can anyone recommend a style of pants that are more like shorts to wear under spring/summer dresses. I'm slim but a bit wobbly so if they suck me in a bit even better! Ang ideas?

M&S used to have light control shorts that are comfy to wear, not too restrictive. Not sure if they still have them, I bought mine last year some time I think.
