My dd is going to two weddings in May - her bf's dm and df respectively (not to each other). they will be up north so it may still be quite cold. one is a large grandish affair, the other smaller and more intimate

any general or specific suggestions on what she ought/might like to wear? preferably inexpensive and capable of being worn again?

thanks v much

Coast do some really lovely dresses which are the sort of thing I wear to weddings (I'm 22). Some of them can be rather pricey, but they often have sales and some of the dresses are a bit cheaper.
She could get a nice simple dress (floral?) and then change the accessories for it, eg. Shawl and hat/fascinator for the more grand wedding, cardigan and nice hair accessory for the smaller one? So the outfits aren't the same.

I second Coast sales! I have a couple of trusty wedding/christening dresses I managed to pick up in the sales that have served me well for the last couple of years (I'm 24). If Coast is a bit of a stretch financially Oasis sometimes have a decent selection

thank you both, v helpful. if you have a sec would you randomly link to any of the dresses you think are nice, as am old gimmer who wouldn't know frumpy floral from chic floral

At 21 just a nice dress and shoes. Not a mini obvs but anything else really.

DH's (very beautiful) cousin, who is 23 recently wore a proper wedding guest dress and jacket to a family and I secretly thought it looked a bit 'not right', despite her usually looking great in everything. It was too old for her.

uniform for this age at weddings is skin-tight dresses with huge florals (if they sit on country-house sofas they vanish) and teetering high heels. Later it is skin-tight huge florals and bare feet.

but anything except white or maybe black will do if she doesn't want to wear the uniform. If she does, fine.

the same outfit will be fine for both weddings!!

Check out Virgo's Lounge on ASOS as another option.

I'm 25 and normally look there or Coast when I need options for weddings/fancy dos.

Have a look at this page. I think lots of these dresses would be suitable, and affordable. Oasis dresses are good quality too.

I'd wear one with a little spring coat or jacket.
