Phase 8- comments?

What do we think of it?
Is it a bit mother of the bride and too safe?

I am middle aged but size 8-10 and don't want to look frumpy. Thinking mainly of their dresses.

I'm the same size and also, I think, a similar age. I quite often try their stuff on but rarely buy. I can't put my finger on why it doesn't do it for me; I guess I just find it a little too safe and also sometimes a bit frilly and floaty for my personal taste - although I've seen other women look good in it.

I also find it pricey for what it is (e.g. rarely natural fabrics) which means I'm less prepared to take a chance.

At least they do colour though so I always go and look.

I think it's partly the man made fibres that put me off and I rarely if ever do floral. I've been looking at everyday dresses and most are viscose with elastane and they feel quite hot for summer. And slightly too dressy for my life style.

I don't mind a bit of floral but theirs always looks dated somehow. They're a bit dressy for my everyday life too too so it would have to be for a special occasion, in which case I'm usually being pretty fussy and they never quite get it right. They also do a lot of sleeveless which I try and avoid these days.

I have lots of their jersey dresses for work. Wouldn't pay full price but they have really good sales and I like the fit of them (32E so often have trouble!). Agree lots of the shop is a bit mumsy but there are gems to be found.

I like their occasion wear, never really looked at their "everyday" stuff. It is quite pricey though

I love their jersey dresses for work. Like Purple, always bought in the sales. Comfortable and flattering (well, as flattering as anything can be on these size 18 curves). I generally throw on a blazer over the top and done.

I've had some lovely, flattering Jersey dresses & tops from Phase Eight over the years. Also like their scarves.

There is an outlet store near me which is good value too.

Sometimes it can be a little middle-aged & frou-frou though.
