Who makes the best t-shirts?

I really need to get some new basics this summer including vests and tees. I'm fairly relaxed about how much/little I pay as long as they are good, if they are cheap I'm happy as long as they last the summer, if they are expensive they need to earn their place...
I'm thinking value cost per wear.

So, who do you recommend?

Thank you!

There was a thread about this last week, and the general concemsus was Boden. I find them too short though and order Land's End.

T shirts have got longer this season, I hate those short waisted ones too. You could try the Green Catalogue which sells lovely organic cotton ones. Also M&S had a good variety with fair trade too.

I like Primark, especially for white T-shirts (non-stretchy). IMO white ones never last very long anyway so I get them as cheap as possible. They seem to wash okay on the whole and are fine for a season's worth of wear.

If you are willing to spend then Splendid are my favourites. I get them from Shopbop when they are in the sale.

I have just ordered this and a grey v neck for £11 each to try. They do look pretty thin though.

I like Howies T shirts very much too.

I like those, BikeRunSki.

Oh, and Gap and Banana Republic can be brilliant!

In the UK I tend to check out Gap, but I've also got quite a few of the vintage cotton Ts from J crew which I've bought when in the US. I find they're cut quite big (I'm a size 10 and need the XS), but the cut is really flattering. I've got one with a low crew neck (not as deep as a scoop neck, but not high necked as a normal crew), and a couple of the V neck ones. It's galling that they're the same in $ as £, and they do amazing sales in the US (every time I go in I seem to get a 40% or more discount). But the UK sales are worth looking out for too.
