Please share what serum you are using. I am coming to the end of my Soap and Glory serum and want to upgrade to something better.

I'm using Olay Luminous atm. Trying to tackle redness from spot scars. I like it!

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 08/04/2015 11:15

I use 4 at different times of the day/week, which sounds excessive when I write it down but it works for me and they are all targeted for specific issues.

AT NIGHT

I use Alpha H Liquid Gold Intensive Night Repair serum 2-3 nights a week which exfoliates and leaves my skin glowing the next day.

Every night I use the Vichy Aqualia Thermal one for hydration as my skin is dehydrated (I put this on top of the Liquid gold serum on the nights I use it after giving it 10 or do mins)

On nights I don't use the Alpha H, I use a Vichy retinol serum. Lift Activ. I use it on my '11''s and my fine eye lines. Again with the Aqualia on top for hydration.

IN THE MORNING

I use Sarah Chapman's skinesis Age repair serum in the morning under a moisturiser with SPF.

Yes, I am obsessive.

frankietwospots · 08/04/2015 11:22

Wow Squeezy, that's impressive serum usage!

I've just started using this L'Oreal one and am impressed so far: www.boots.com/en/Revitalift-Filler-Renew-Hyaluronic-Replumping-Serum_1657103/

HeyheyheyGoodbye · 08/04/2015 11:29

Olay Luminous in the morning - fab.

Advanced Night Repair in the evening. It's ok. Don't know yet if I will repurchase or get something else.

yazzy85 · 08/04/2015 11:31

Squeezy that's an impressive list. I am tempted to buy the vichy retinol one and the aqualia thermal one as my skin gets dehydrated too. Never thought about layering serums either, its a great idea!

HeyheyheyGoodbye is the advance night repair worth the cost? its one that gets lot of attention online so I was considering it as well

OP posts:
SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 08/04/2015 11:38

I don't like advanced night repair. I find it siliconey & it breaks me out.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 08/04/2015 11:39

The Aqualia thermal one is absolutely brilliant, yazzy. A total bargain for the results.

HeyheyheyGoodbye · 08/04/2015 11:47

Yazzy the new formula is much better than the old one - not nearly so siliconey - and it has never broken me out but I also can't really tell if it is doing anything, iykwim? At that price I expected more. But other people have had different results.

yazzy85 · 08/04/2015 16:50

Thanks HeyheyheyGoodbye. I also wanted something with a bit more oomph so will pass on the night repair and try the vichy ones first as they are a bit less costly as well.

I have a sample of L'Occtaine divine youth oil ( or whatever it's called) and use that at night. I've not used it regularly enough though.

chanie44 · 08/04/2015 17:57

Body shop vitamin e serum in oil. I really like it.

Nabootique · 09/04/2015 08:31

Another serum compulsive here. Yazzy what issue are you wanting to help your skin with? Is it just dehydration?

yazzy85 · 09/04/2015 10:17

Nabootique Dehydration and preventing wrinkles, improving overall texture. I'm 30 this year but my skin is looking dull and older than my age. Introducing an acid toner has really helped but I think I need to choose a better serum as well now. Any advice??

diggerdigsdogs · 09/04/2015 10:25

Yazzy we are the same age with similar skin though mine isn't massively dehydrated.

I use ANR in the evenings and I'm not convinced I'll re buy. I don't think its looking better for it. Otoh I use Ren radience perfecting serum in the morning and it's absolutly obvious when I don't use it. Definitely will re buy.

Nabootique · 09/04/2015 10:26

PP recommended the Body Shop Vitamin E serum in oil, which is really nice if dehydration is your issue. I use it on those days where I'm a bit more crinkly than I should be at my age (31) and have maybe , just maybe, not drunk as much water as I should. Another nice one for this that I've just discovered and is an absolute bargain in the Good Things Argan Oil one (I think it's £8.99 or something in Boots). Oooh, and a hyaluronic acid product under moisturiser, so you'd put it on between serum and moisturiser. Don't waste your money on the Indeed Labs one. You can get a pure one from SR Skincare for £6 ish. This will help hydrate and plump out fine lines. I take it all up to right under my eye.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 09/04/2015 10:55

I really hate hydraluron. I don't like the texture. I think I have a tube somewhere, if I do, you can have it if you like?!

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 09/04/2015 11:00

I do have one. Unopened! Do you want it, yazzy?

Apologies for pic quality, just quick snaps to show the foil seal intact.

yazzy85 · 09/04/2015 11:01

Thanks ladies for the helpful advice. I tried hydraluron a few months back but it did nothing for me and felt sticky on the skin. The Ren serum sounds promising, as a skincare brand they are rated very well. Will check out the body shop one too, maybe buy two for different days depending on how my skin is feeling.

OP posts:
SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 09/04/2015 11:02

That's how I feel about it too, yazzy.

Nabootique · 09/04/2015 11:06

Do you apply the Hydraluron to damp skin? I've read that some people find it sticky (I don't personally) and if you spritz first, then apply this combats this issue. Also, it can work better when mixed with your regular serum. If you buy a serum or moisturiser that already contains it then you don't need the extra step.

yazzy85 · 09/04/2015 11:21

aw thanks Squeezy for the pics, just saw them. I have a pretty much full tube as well but haven't been using it either, don't like the way it feels on either, gives a tight feeling if that makes sense. I use it after my toner but still feels the same.

noddyholder · 09/04/2015 11:52

I have tried them all and always go back to decleor neroli. I sometimes use a cheap hyaluron from amazon too

CremeDeSudo · 09/04/2015 12:50

What's the cheap hyaluronic from Amazon?

And how do you use it? Cleanse, acid tone, serum, hyaluronic, cream?
