La Roche-Posay facial sunscreen?

I'm after something spf30+ for using on my face every day on hols and in summer (I have Ultrasun for my body but would prefer something lighter for my face). They seem to do various milks and lotions - has anyone used them?

I'm a big fan of their Toleriane and Effaclar ranges.

I used Anthelios cream for a while but found it too thick and oily and it left a strong white cast. The tinted version was too orange for my pale skin. I got best results by mixing liquid foundation with regular Anthelios. I like Effaclar products too but am not going back to Anthelios.

It's too greasy and left a white castle on me.I use Biore watery essence now, I get it on ebay from Japan, it's light, spf 50 and I can wear make up over it. It only takes about 5 days for delivery, the seller I get it from is Japan gift bay.

Oh, and its about €12 including post. A bottle lasts me 5 weeks, that's using a quarter teaspoon every day!

I use Sunsense daily face, spf 50 and a light tint. You can get it from Amazon

They seem to have different types of the anthelios. Got a bottle of the lighter lotion from boots the other day which is v light and no residue. Fine under make up

Anthelios ultra light fluid is non-greasy and I've not noticed a white cast (I am ghostly at the best of times). I mix with my tinted moisturiser to make myself look, erm, alive... I got it for about £14 from escentuals.

I found anthelios too thick and white as well, it didn't sit well on my skin at all. My dermatologist recommended it, and when I told her I didn't like it, she mentioned Bioderma and Heliocare as well. I have this coming later today to try, and really hope the gel formula is better for me.

In the past I've used Ultrasun (for face) and liked it better than Anthelios. I would try and find a decent pharmacy where you can try each one on a bit of your face to see what the texture is like and how it lasts.

Brilliant, thanks everyone. I think there's one called ultra-light matte fluid, which sounds like the one you use, Minshu. I don't really want anything tinted as I'll have to be reapplying during the day, unless they do a one-application type. Has anyone tried the Ultrasun facial one?

Blair, how are you getting on with the Heliocare?

Hi Laquila, you're lucky I've seen this, I am on honeymoon Grin (don't tell DH!)

I'm getting on really well with the heliocare this week actually. As long as I apply it lightly and just sort of pat it on, then there isn't any bobbling. This is after waiting a good while after moisturiser. It smells amazing too, like apricots. It's expensive but I will buy the 200ml tube next time to get better value.

Hope that helps Smile
