Trench coats

I'm looking for something a bit smarter than my Boden rainy day mac.

I've tried the classic belted trench from M&S and Mint Velvet - both are going back. The Mint Velvet one was tight across the bust (I'm top heavy).

I've seen this from Banana Republic, what do you think:

Or anything else?

Looks nice - but short, more like a jacket than a classic trench.

I'm curious to know why the M&S one is going back - I've been tempted to buy that for the past two years and never quite got round to it.

It just looked frumpy rock, looked much better on the model!

Can I have your opinions on this please:

www.hobbs.co.uk/product/display?productID=0115-3087-9057L00&productvarid=0115-3087-9057L00-LAWN%20GREEN-18&refpage=coats-jackets

I tried on all the colours both in Hobbs and in the JL concession and have bought the green as the colour seemed to really suit me.

I'm just not sure though if I'm brave enough! It's not really really bright but I'm used to more neutral coloured coats. The stone colour looked drab on me and the other colours weren't quite right either.

Anyone?

I can't possibly make a S&B decision without consulting MN! Grin

I don't see the point of having a rain jacket as your bottom half gets wet then. Just my opinion.

Think I'm thinking more about style than practicality with this! I've got an old Boden rainy day mac for when it's really chucking it down. It's a bit knackered but does the job of keeping me dry.
