Is it twee to wear a scarf?

Hi

Not winter scarves but fashion scarves. Are they a bit twee?

I don't think so. I wear them quite a lot but maybe I'm getting it all wrong!

It depends how you wear them.

They can look twee or they can look good. It really depends on the scarf, how you tie it and what you are wearing it with.

I like scarves, I'm wearing one right now. I wish I had more actually.

Yes definitely depends how you tie it, and the pattern/colour. I've seen folk wearing scarves, where the scarf on its own is ever so pretty, but the colour is just wrong next to their face

If I tie it correctly a scarf looks ok on me despite having a bigger top half than bottom half. I need to keep it up and off my norks or it just hangs off the front of me. The tutorial above is good I watched that one earlier in the week

It depends. Some scarves on some people look great. I like this look for example.

But I think this looks a bit daft.

Does the temperature mean that you want a bit of fabric around your neck? If yes, wear scarf.

What I don't understand is people on Pinterest wearing shorts, sandals and a camisole, plus a scarf.

It's fine but certainly not GOK WAN style, beyond twee and you'll just look like a woman dressed how a gay man think woman should look.

I love a scarf. I don't think mine look twee until I put my coat on, then suddenly I look like I should put one of those plastic bags over my head to keep my close set perm dry from the rain. I don't know why I can't master that!

They can look good but very often twee IMO. I dare not risk it so I don't wear them!

There's worse than looking a bit twee in life

I have massive norks and I wear scarves every day, ive dozens of them

They keep my neck warm and help with modesty for my cleavage as I bounce along the street - I'm literally a giant pair of norks out for a walk

Careful before you judge - I regularly wear a scarf in all temperatures due to scarring on my neck. Not everyone's choice is a fashion one.

I love scarves. I have dozens of them.

I like them for the warmth, obviously, but also for adding a bit of colour /interest to an otherwise neutral coloured outfit. I wear a lot of navy, charcoal and grey, so it just means I dont look sombre all the time!
I had my colours done last year and and I tend to go for scarves in my colours - it definitely perks up my face and brings out the colour of my eyes.

I dont understand the 'twee' thing. Do you have example pictures?

I have big wrap scarves, thin silk scarves, slim jersey ones...all sorts basically...and just wear them according to the style and colour of my outfit.

I wear a scarf most days. I love them. I dont ever wear jewellary, only stud earrings. Don't think I look twee. Maybe I do, don't care though. My new favourite scarf is a tartan one from Primark, wore it today with leather biker jacket, dark denim knee length skirt, thick black tights and dms.

I've got about fifty scarfs, I love them! Wear them everyday come rain or shine, I can't go out without wearing one, I feel naked otherwise

I wear scarves quite a bit. Adds softness, colour and interest around my face especially because my coats tend to be a neutral colour.

I hang them at the back of my chair at work, which also adds interest and variety. My scarves get compliments!

I guess the twee thing came from me feeling a bit fancy when I wear it and I'm not used to that!
