I would like to buy myself a really good leather handbag - I have a bit of money coming to me, from my late MIL's estate, and would like to buy something that will last, to be a reminder of her.

I have a budget of up to £300, and am looking for something fairly soft and unstructured, not too cutting edge, in a bright colour - teal, turquoise, pink or purple.

In the past I had a lovely suede Billy Bag, and I've had a pale pink Stone handbag.

I have looked at the major retailers - John Lewis, Debenhams etc, and don't really know where else to look, or what particular manufacturers to look at - so I am hoping the wise S&B MNers can help me.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry to hear about your MIL...

You could try Kate Spade. I have a beautiful orange soft leather handbag from their NYC shop Christmas before last in the sake (about £180) and it's worn really well.

My favourite British leather handbag brand at the moment is Aspinal but £300 won't buy you much unless it's in the sale.

Or try a second-hand Mulberry. I love their leather!

Firstly sorry to hear about your mil...
Be lovely to have a bag you use everyday to remind you of her.

So many lovely bags on the village England site! The Beamish is particularly nice.

Thank you both. Thanks

Have you looked at coach? They have reinvented themselves the past few seasons and make good quality leather bags which aren't stupidly expensive.

this one is nice.

Try grandala. They have a good selection with lots of colours. Most bags are around £200 but there are frequent offers on.
