Boden Ravello top - is it al that?

This top seems to be a Boden staple and the reviews on the whole seem very favourable. What's the verdict if you own one? I'm a size 12 with a medium sized bust. Do you recommend?

I own a few of these. They fit true to size IMO. I'm a 10/12 with a large bust and the 12 fits fine. They wash well too.

Oly4 · 03/04/2015 08:45

I'm a 12 with a 36C bust and they don't suit me at all

BillStickersIsInnocent · 03/04/2015 09:13

I'm a size 12 32FF with broad shoulders but weirdly they do suit me. I prefer the darker plain ones but I have an ivory one too which works ok under jackets.

SorrelForbes · 03/04/2015 09:17

Olya sorry but I just can't stop myself from asking whether you've read any of the bra threads? As a size 12 it's very unlikely that you're a 36 band.

VolumniaDedlock · 03/04/2015 09:19

it needs decent sized breasts to hang well
i have small breasts (36C) and it did nothing for me.

SorrelForbes · 03/04/2015 09:25

Hmmm. I'm a 30H and they hang ok on me. I repeat my above statement about bra sizes Grin. A properly fitting bra will make clothes hang so much better.

I'm always looking for tops which suit my boobs, I'm 30FF.

I'm a short arse though, 5ft2, so can anyone tell me how long the top is? Is it going to reach my knees?Grin

BillStickersIsInnocent · 03/04/2015 10:02

They come to top of hip for me - I'm short bodied though. Great length for either tucking in or half tuck or leaving out. I guess they must be a bit on the short side as Boden brought out a longer length version in response to feedback I suppose.

Bakeoffcake · 03/04/2015 10:26

Thank you, that sounds promising. I think I'll have to try one or two

Oly4 · 03/04/2015 15:02

Hello, no I haven't read the bra threads and am probably wearing all the wrong size bras. I'm still BF so going to get measured and shop for bras once I've stopped. Sorry to hijack op, but any idea when boobs go back to normal after bf... Plus where is the best place to get measured?

SorrelForbes · 03/04/2015 15:42

Definitely go to Bravissimo!

burnishedsilver · 03/04/2015 15:42

£20 on no one being a 36C.

PrimalLass · 03/04/2015 16:04

I'm a 36C. I have wide ribs. A 34 cuts off my breathing.

VolumniaDedlock · 03/04/2015 17:09

i have also read the bra threads
i am tall, with broad shoulders and very small breasts
a 34" band is like a tourniquet, regardless of any increase in cup size

SorrelForbes · 03/04/2015 18:14

Often it's about getting the right size and the right style/make. I am broad shouldered (a pretty sticky build tbh) but I measure 29/30 under bust so that's what I wear. If I go up to a 32 it starts climbing up my back. Don't you find that happens with a 36? Having a large enough cup is the key. I went from a 34D to a 30GG. I tried a 32FF and couldn't breathe but going up another 2 sizes made all the difference.

CointreauVersial · 04/04/2015 00:53

I have one, and rarely wear it.

I'm not a "tucker" and it seems to end at the wrong point on my hip if I leave it loose. I'm not crazy about the print either. In fact, the more I think about it, the more likely it is that I'll be putting it on eBay sometime soon!

Sleepyfergus · 04/04/2015 08:02

Yes, I'm not a tucker either and one of the reviews says it's an odd length if you're apt not to tuck. I'm also a bit put off with the sleeves. Perhaps I will just leave it then! Thanks all!
