Anyone use hairspray?

I've avoided hair spray for years as I can never stand the fumes from it but my hairdresser suggested it to hold my fine hair in place. I bought a huge bottle from the salon for just four pounds which will last me forever. It's light and has a light scent and I find it better than the gels and serums I've had to give up on due to making my hair greasy and having no effect. However I still get those fumes on my chest. How do you overcome this. I try not to use too much. I love the effect it has on my hair and don't want to give.it up.

Hold your breath while you spray you hair. When you're finished spraying walk out of the room and then draw breath.

How about a pump instead of an aerosol?

Thanks for your replies. I can't find many pump sprays and I do love this one from the salon.

No idea about the fumes, sorry Blush

but can I ask how you use it? I have very fine hair too mad use a volume sing serum thing that works if I use it alongside my babyliss big hair, but only for 8-10 hours ish, the next day certainly my hair looks utterly flat. Do you just spray all over or on layers under the hair?

I have really fine hair. I spray hairspray on a vent brush and brush through and under once I finish styling and I spray onto my finger tips and rub into my roots - gives me a bit of volume that does last.
