Will the beautician think I am mad?

I am getting married in two months time. Although I like shopping/visit hair dressers regularly I have never been into make up or well beauty therapy etc.

For my wedding I want to have my eyebrows shaped and also have my nails done.

I have never had either done so haven't a clue about what I am talking about.

I also have a wart at the side of my finger (currently being frozen) which makes me paranoid and all I can see on my hand is this wart. Will a beautician even be ok with doing nails.

ALso what type of nails?

Why would they think you mad?! Your wart may well be gone by then anyway.

I am a bit clueless too, they don't mind, they're happy to take your money

Re nails - I normally have either Shellac or Gelish, it's a new thingimibob where they paint your nails, then stick them under a uv light, which sets them rock hard straight away. They last longer, and you don't have to remember not to touch anything for ages after. Bit more expensive - about £25 maybe?

I'd consider going to get your brows done now, so you can check you like how they do it.

I had my eyebrows done for the first ever time when I got married . Was a bit of a shock at first, but have never looked back! You could get shellac or gel manicure, the beautician will shape your nails and the polish will last a couple of weeks. Nice if you are also off on honeymoon straight away. And I wouldn't worry about the wart, can't imagine it would be a problem

I had the same wish list.
Swapped a massage for an amazing facial from a friend which included sorting my eyebrows out (for the first time ever) with wax. Then got fake nails with a french polish on just slightly over the tips of my fingers the day before the wedding.
Have kept on having facials for treats, but never repeated nails as totally impractical. Made me feel "polished" on the day though.
My tip for the facial is to have it four or five days beforehand. I got lots of spots immediately afterwards but then had beautiful skin which loads of people commented on. Make-up artist gave my eyebrows another quick go with tweezers on the day. (Did my hair too which had the biggest impact on how I looked.)

Qualified Beauty Therapists really really object to being called that name.

That is the old fashioned name for the make up counter girls who have no training.

Believe me, four years at college training for my profession, never ever call me that name.

I don't think there will be much difference, but a recommend is best, or have a look at on-line reviews of local places. Enjoy the experience!

Someone who calls themselves a "qualified BEAUTICAIN" clearly isn't a Beauty Therapist. So probably unqualified and uninsured.

A beauty therapist won't be able to work on your hands if you have a wart on them unfortunately. Warts are infectious and giving you a manicure when you have one on your finger would risk spreading the warts to other parts of your hands and spreading it to the therapist/her tools. If you are having the wart frozen then if it is gone by the time you want the treatment then it'll be fine to go ahead

I had never stepped foot in a beauty salon before my wedding either but just tell them what sort of thing you want to improve and they will advise you. I had a lash perm and tint and shellac. I would advise trying it first a few months before though in case you don't like it. X
