Has anyone tried a corset to obtain a waist, Cinderella would be too optimistic for me as I border on being an apple, but just wondered if anyone has bought one and if so have you had any success in attaining a waist.

Do you mean long term waist training or a corset to wear on occasion?

bawabod · 31/03/2015 17:25

Long term waist training it seems to be the latest fad to try to get a waist and I am prepared to give it a go

Corsets only give you a waist whilst you wear them.

Waist training is wearing a corset all the time, reshaping your ribs hence allowing you to progress to a more extreme corset.

penny13610 any beginners corsets you could recommend

I remember pictures in my history book on the effect of corsets on women's bodies, you can press the lower ribs inward with time so they press into your organs. Not good for your organs!

bawabod · 31/03/2015 18:09

Surely modern corsets are more comfortable

Sounds like torture.

Seriously tho, why would you want to do this?

penny13610 · 31/03/2015 18:36

Seriously, exercise and a good diet are best for the waist. Has anyone noticed how when you lose weight it comes off your tits and when you put it on it goes on your tummy or thighs. Maintaining a sensible steady weight is the best policy.

However, if you are after a corset gina is probably best for an apple

That looks VICIOUS.

Larrytheleprechaun · 31/03/2015 20:31

When I was getting married I bought a full corset and a waspie and ended up wearing neither. They were not comfortable in any way and it was a choice of enjoying the day in comfort or being strung up and I chose the first.

Bunbaker · 31/03/2015 20:36

Wearing tight clothes always gives me indigestion. Also wearing corsets all the time means you don't use your own muscles to support yourself properly.

Sadly, penny is right. Not what you want to hear though.

I wore a proper steel boned custom made corset under my wedding dress and it was really comfortable for me. But, I wouldn't want to wear one every day tbh, they're more of an occasion wear thing.

I've bought from Vollers (UK based, pricey) before, and also from OrchardCorsets who are in America but ship here. I have an underbust from Orchard which is excellent quality, and they do waist training specific ones too. I haven't used them, but What Katy Did in the UK have a good reputation too
