Is that the diet with loads of salmon?

CreepyCrawlyCarmenere · 31/10/2006 13:09

My sil gave me a complete set of Christain Dior skincare one christmas(about £250's worth but it was a gift to her) and it was truely fab, I was soo sorry when I had to go back to the cheap stuff.

I enjoy using "nice" stuff - which for me usually means expensive! Draw the line at Creme de mer though - two friends bought it and didn't rate it.

I like Clarins, Dermalogica, Dr Hauschka, Decleor, Origins. May order some Liz Earle actually - could do with a change.

Am using the new Origins "Mega-Mushroom" range just now and I like it.

DH raises his eyebrows at my "habit" (have many unfinished jars of stuff!) but I tell him it is to make me beautiful - he reckons I should get my money back!

I know this might sound a bit wierd but i always used to see avacado oil on all of my fave products(not really expensive, im 21 and dont want to hurl too much stuff at my skin yet..) but anyway.. where did my point go? yup.. i thought about mushing an avacado up and leave it on your face for about 10mins. leaves my face feeling baby-bum soft find it difficult to stop my tongue from wondering to the tip of my nose though

Oh yes, BudaBeast - I quite fancy the Origins mushroom stuff too. But I do love the Liz earle. Might try a moisturiser or is there a serum, or something.

BudaBeast · 31/10/2006 13:12

Both my friends reckoned they had to use loads of teh Creme De Mer as it wasn't moisturising enough.

Marina · 31/10/2006 13:13

My muslin has to be confiscated from dd on a regular basis. she is obsessed with it PPH.
Have always mixed and matched so not so bothered re lack of moisturiser in the range.
Once had an unwanted chemical peel courtesy of Turnaround though . Dreadful stuff, for me anyway.

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 31/10/2006 13:13

Oh yes, Liz Earle now does an exfoliating scrub too - it's quite gentle, though.

BudaBeast · 31/10/2006 13:14

JackieNo - it;s a serum and and cream - bought the set Duty Free last time I wsa home. Apparently will be a suplement as well but only available in States now.

oops - computer playing up!

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 31/10/2006 13:15

Excellent BudaBeast - might have to try the serum. One for the Christmas present list maybe.

hub2dee · 31/10/2006 13:15

dw has also tried that Creme de la Mer pph.

All pants, I'm telling ya. It is a marketing play on women's insecurity or competitiveness... or sommit. It makes no sense. A tube of E45 will do you perfectly well, or a touch of tea-tree if oily-skinned.

I never use anything but water aktually, Marina / Jackieno Perhaps I'm blessed with decent skin, or perhaps I'll look 80 when I turn 50, I don't know, but I just take a shower and rub my face and that's it. When I was younger I sometimes used those ground adzuki beans they used to sell at the body shop (great exfoliant), but they've stopped that now. All these potions are just utter pants. A simple generic would do just as well. Re: shower gel / soap - I just used whatever is there; DW cycles it regularly (also looking for utopic shower gels I guess).

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 31/10/2006 13:17

Also, hub2dee, I guess you probably don't wear much makeup?

PrincessPeaHead · 31/10/2006 13:19

oh I like REN stuff megg, I have some delicious ren stuff for the shower. will have a look next time I'm in space NK (which is a 40 mins drive from here, now THAT is dedication)

Pollybloodyanna · 31/10/2006 13:19

i really like the Eve Lom Cleanser and dermalogica moisturiser and exfoliant. I really liked Hope in a Jar (philosphy) moisturiser as I get very dry skin , but I didn't like the smell.

I have got some Midnight Secret night cream ("sleep in a jar" apparently), but haven't noticed any amazing effects from it. I like Olay regenerist night cream. I haven't tried the Dr Hauchska stuff, but my sister really likes it.

PrincessPeaHead · 31/10/2006 13:20

haha jackie

hub just walk away from the thread. no, you CAN'T sneak off with that trial size pot of eve lom cleanser, put it DOWN. and go and play with the boys!

hub2dee · 31/10/2006 13:21

That's also all a great big con, Jackieno. I mean, if you all looked like shite nobody would need any of it, right ?

I did like the REN samples we got given in a flash hotel once. But I wouldn't pay more than a few quid for a tube of moisturiser / shampoo / whatever it was.

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 31/10/2006 13:21

He'll never understand - it's like a man looking for the ultimate, umm, camera (I know you're a photographer, hub). There's always a possibility that the next one will be the ultimate one.

cupcakes · 31/10/2006 13:22

am interested in trying Olay range. However, as am 'only' 32 do I really need a moisturiser for 'mature skins'
My skin is fairly normal, possibly a tad oily on the old t zone.
