Maxi Dresses - Should I shorten?

Just as above really. I have a couple of jersey maxi dresses which are lethally long (think of tripping up steps etc) so I was thinking of slightly shortening them to ballet length (above ankle before thickest part of my calves). I am not a fan of showing off my legs btw. Do you reckon it would be a good idea?

Can you please tell me if there is any particular length that is in this summer?

TIA

That length sounds a bit odd, like in between maxi and midi? Midi lengths are in at the moment. Or stick with maxi but just take up enough so it doesn't make you trip.

I think though you should get the pins out and experiment, some skirt lengths don't suit all. For example I know lots who hate the just below knee length midi, but it really suits me, so am pleased I have lots of options in the shops at the moment. Just above knee length is worst for me, I hate it when minis are in fashion.
