Has anyone not found Supergas comfortable?

Just bought some white ones for holiday / summer. They look great but feel quite heavy and high on the back of my heel - every review says wear with socks for a bit and they will soon be mega comfy.
How reliable is this information? - will be gutted if they don't wear in and at £50 would rather return them for something else if there is a risk they will rub my heels for all eternity.

Mine aren't great, I find the canvas a lot harder than converse.

makeusabrew · 28/03/2015 14:23

I didn't get on with supergas. I found them much heavier than converse or springcourt to compare other canvas shoes.

Fit wise, I think they are wider which made my usual size slightly too big, I tried going down a half size but that made them too small in the length, so I think length wise they are true, just very roomy across the toes. I didn't have a problem with the heel, but they rubbed for me because they were too roomy.

I still wear converse, but for a tennis style shoe similar to superga, I love my springcourts, they are super light and comfy.

Liveinthepresent · 28/03/2015 14:37

Thanks for replies - they are indeed very wide and I have sized down a full size already!
Think I need to try some alternatives and then Probably send these back - shame but will annoy me too much if they aren't comfortable.

Yes they are heavy, definitely! (but I haven't had my comfort problems, either with or without socks)

There was a brand mentioned on here recently as an alternative (wasn't converse or springcourts) which look lovely, cant think what they are called! Maybe a search would throw it up?

CadiM · 28/03/2015 15:42

I'm still trying to break mine in, killer on the heels. Prefer converse.

Liveinthepresent · 28/03/2015 15:48

Right am searching for converse , spring court and the mystery ones Daryl mentioned - any other ideas please let me know!

I tried to like them as I love how they look but I found them too heavy.

bonzo77 · 28/03/2015 19:13

No good for me, too heavy, too wide, too deep and too flat.

Greengardenpixie · 28/03/2015 19:21

I have supergas and i have no issues with them. I have bought these recently though and love them:

You can get them in all different colours. Mine are pale pink :)

Saurus72 · 28/03/2015 19:53

I love my Supergas, they're like walking on marshmallows. I went into the shop in Spitalfields today, the Spring Summer range is gorgeous.

DarylDixonsDarlin · 28/03/2015 20:29

Bensimon! Just remembered lol sorry. Although they look quite high on the heel as well, so you might not find them any better. I haven't tried them myself, they're in my wish list for when the supergas are past their best.

southeastastra · 28/03/2015 20:30

i like my supergas too, more comfortable than converse but i guess you like what you like

DarylDixonsDarlin · 28/03/2015 20:33

Rocketdog pumps also nice, I like them but they're not as hardwearing.

Laquila · 28/03/2015 20:37

Like my Supergas but not worn them enough yet to comment on long-term comfiness. LOVE Bensimons though! La Redoute often have them.

mewkins · 28/03/2015 20:59

Mine are really comfy but I don't get in at all with Converse (get blisters within minutes!).

CointreauVersial · 28/03/2015 22:11

Love Superga, I find Converse way too narrow and flat.

I have wide feet, though.

NigellasGuest · 28/03/2015 22:16

they make my feet sweat!

SconessMcFloness · 29/03/2015 00:04

I don't find them comfortable - I buy Spring Court instead, which are unfortunately more expensive than Superga.

Turquoiseblue · 29/03/2015 09:10

I love them but yes find them a bit wide. I was surprised they were heavy when I tried them first but I find they don't aggravate back pain and I can wear them for longer without getting uncomfortable in them - I find converse flimsy and uncomfortable.
Love the colour selection too. Have ordered the Khaki green ones and cream/ ivory ones for summer Grin

I cannot wear my supergra shoes. Treated myself to the leather ones and the heel is so hard it rips Mt feet to shreds, sox make no difference. And I contacted the manufacturers and they could not give a toss
