Help me oh stylish ones, I know this Boden garment is weird and bonkers, but I'm helplessly drawn to it

You know sometimes you just see a dress or whatever and think "yes yes yes I love that!" and have to get it? Normally when that happens I know I'm onto a keeper and it will be a good buy. But even I can't deny that the Boden tunic-y dress thing I have the hots for at the moment is going to make me look like a lampshade on holiday.

here
in pink.

Please give me your HONEST opinions on this, come on both barrels I will not be upset.

I would wear the green one.

I agree with some posters above - surely it's a beach cover-up over a bikini in which case it's just about passable. In any other circumstances...nooooo....

toffeeboffin · 27/03/2015 15:12

Please do not buy this dress.

Plateofcrumbs · 27/03/2015 15:12

I like it, rather more so in green though.

funnyossity · 27/03/2015 15:14

It reminds me of my Mum's work clothes cleaning in the seventies. I might buy it on a whim to see if it could bring on a bout of nostalgic housework.

seaoflove · 27/03/2015 15:15

It's a beach cover up, so it will be too sheer to wear as a dress.

And yes, it's horrible Grin

Everything about it is wrong. The colours individually, and in combination. The cut. The print. The trim. The drawstring waist.

You will not waft. What you will look shares some of the same letters as 'waft'. But it begins with 'd' and there's no 'w' in it.

Sorry OP. Tis ghastly.

ginslinger · 27/03/2015 15:16

I'm a great believer in wearing what you love until I saw this dress!

Assassin ha ha I was trying to work that out and at first thought you meant "fat".

I suspect daft and fat might both apply.

OP posts:
hellsbellsmelons · 27/03/2015 15:19

Or you could just rearrange 'waft' and that would be the response you would get (WTAF???)

BaronessBomburst · 27/03/2015 15:20

The trim! The trim!

MagentaMouflon · 27/03/2015 15:20

Not pregnant but I do have a history of making some erm, questionable fashion decisions while under the influence of PMT.

LaurieFairyCake · 27/03/2015 15:21

I came on here absolutely confident I would like it as I also wear flowery Boden monstrosities. I have genuinely shit taste in clothes Grin

But I fucking hate it Grin

This means it is beyond awful into a whole new realm of evil if I don't like it.

nooyearnooname · 27/03/2015 15:22

I like it!! But then I am renowned for having slightly odd taste in clothes. I wouldn't pay 60 quid for it though

Gawjushun · 27/03/2015 15:25

I actually love it in green! Shame it's out of my price range. I'd wear it on summery days with some roll up jeans or demin shorts. I'm a bit obsessed with vintage and weird though so feel free to ignore my opinion.

MagentaMouflon · 27/03/2015 15:26

PSML at WTAF! At least you have all given me a good laugh. With which to mask the horror of my appalling taste

OP posts:
MagentaMouflon · 27/03/2015 15:26

I'm glad some people like it.

OhNoNotMyBaby · 27/03/2015 15:27

Hysterically funny! Who in their right minds would wear this unless you were acting in an Acorn Antiques piss-take?

AlpacaMyBag · 27/03/2015 15:29

The price is outrageous. And it's totally not my thing. But if you need a cover-up for over your swimsuit and you're the quirky type, then I say go for it.

Hey, you can always return it.

However, do not wear it anywhere other than on the beach/by the pool/in your garden on a very hot day. If I see you wearing this at the shops (and I will know it's you Grin) there will be trouble! Grin Grin

stillwearingaredribbon · 27/03/2015 15:30

OP I am older than you and like odd clothes and I still think that it is bloody awful
You have to wonder why it is not shown being worn

AlpacaMyBag · 27/03/2015 15:30

You will not waft. What you will look shares some of the same letters as 'waft'.

ARF at this! I cannot argue. But I still say that the OP should go for it if it's really her bag, baby.

DoctorLawn · 27/03/2015 15:31

It says the pompoms give you 'added style credentials' Grin

How could you not buy it?
