Help me to find a dress For my registry wedding please!

So dp proposed and I'm having the tiniest wedding possible at a registry office. It's suddenly dawned on me though that I need to find something to wear on the day, and that's where I need help. I don't want a typical brides dress, although don't need to discount white. I like the idea though of wearing something beautiful, the most beautiful dress I could find, as it's hard to pull something like that off on round the aisles of tesco. I'm a size 8, 5'7, like soft pastels or strong rich colours, but not so keen on popping brights like electric blue or pillar box red. Budget is fairly unlimited at this point, I just really need to get some ideas soon.

Please share links for your idea of the most beautiful dress you'd choose to wear!

What is your body shape? Curvy/boobs/pear/boyish?

DontdrinkandFacebook · 27/03/2015 13:44

And your skin and hair colouring and age? Are you okay with showing off your legs or not?

ZeroFunDame · 27/03/2015 13:54

Unlimited budget? Erdem have been making some astonishingly beautiful things over the last few years.

Of course you could have something made for you ...

Size 8, wear 30D chest size (at least that's what I buy before the bra intervention arrives!), typically hourglass shape with boobs and hips but no bum. Don't mind showing legs, don't tend to wear mini though. Brunette, olive skin that's still a little pale emerging from winter. Oh and I'm 28, 29 by the time the wedding day comes round.

So cute. Too mini?

PoppyBlossom · 27/03/2015 14:02

Ah I've noticed a lot of erdem pieces on net a porter, I love their prints. There's only two guests, But I really like the idea of being able to wear something. I couldn't get away with wearing for any other occasion.

I wouldn't even have any idea how to go about getting something custom made.

If you like simple styles this Monsoon one is lovely. Actually Monsoon have lots of lovely dresses.

ZeroFunDame · 27/03/2015 14:06

The simplest possible thing. Lots of scope for bridal accoutrements.

But do you want a dress or a gown?

hellsbellsmelons · 27/03/2015 14:24

bit mini but I love it (although I could never could never carry it off)
long and strapless?
this maybe the do various colours
dipped hem?
bit different
longer version gorgeous colour
classy

strapless again?

Oh I like that max mara dress, it's really elegant.

The dress doesn't need to be simple, and it can be a gown or dress, although a gown I could wear during the daytime so not too stiff and formal. Sorry I'm so indecisive, I feel like I just need to see everything that's out there and pick one. It's not a dress I'll ever wear again so I'd like it to be special.

After the registry service we'll be eating and staying at le manoir in Oxfordshire, if any of you are familiar with it and can think or suggestions which would be vaguely In keeping maybe.

For elegance you may like this collection.

I wanted to wear something like this for my reg office wedding but my figure was not great at the time

short lacey
long lacey
white long lacey

I also like the DVF bentley dresses for elegant and flattering which can be worn again. I have one in a dark claret and one in pink which is lovely.

I'm a massive DVF fan tho Blush
