Bra intervention help please!

Having been inspired by the whole bra intervention movement, I recently measured myself using the 'bend forward at 90 degrees' method and I think I should be a 34G on that basis, with measurements of 34" and 44" Shock respectively.

Emboldened, I bought some really pretty bras in this size from Bravissimo, which have arrived. They seem to fit nicely around the back, but I think the tops of the cups are a little gapey. Is this possibly due to loss of natural volume (ahem) after breastfeeding 3 kids and just getting older (am 41)? Or does it likely mean the cup size is too big? Or even the band size? I can't quite imagine going down a whole inch in cup size to a FF, but don't want to gape. Slightly complicated by the fact that my boobs are not quite the same size, but not a whole cup size difference.

Any views would be appreciated! The nearest Bravissimo shop is not that near, and although I might be able to get there one day, I don't think it's imminent.

Can you link to the bras you ordered please?

Your measurements suggest a starting point of 34GG but it really is just a starting point. Once you start getting above a G (or thereabouts) finding the right cup size becomes slightly harder!

Which bras did you get and have you scooped?

These are the bras:

Blue bra

Pink bra

Have scooped, yes Smile.

Mornin' Stats

OK, they're both moulded style bras which tbh aren't the greatest when trying to establish your fit as they don't mould to your shape IYSWIM?

The Deco is also a plunge style which, if you have any bottom heaviness, can lead to your boobs just sitting in the bottom with large gaps at the top (where the cup meets the strap).

I'm not familiar with that Lepel bra but it's not a brand that really specialises in larger busts. I'd try ordering something from the Bravissimo own range or Panache, Freya, Cleo etc.

If you can describe the shape of your boobs then we can try to suggest some styles to try. Do you have narrow set or wide set breasts (do they start right under your armpit), is there a small or large gap between them, etc.

Ahh, I see. They might have to go back, then...

I would say that I am wide set, with quite a large gap between them - they used to be like 2 lovely, rounded scoops of ice cream sat on my chest. Now looking slightly less rounded, alas. Even when I used to wear push-up bras, they never really joined together to make that deep cleavage - always a gap in between. Think I am fairly broad in the beam Blush.
