Chinos and other spring/summer wear basics

I'm going on holiday next week and have been trying to get a pair of chinos or similar from somewhere. I wanted something between shorts and jeans as I don't know how warm it's going to be but not linen trousers.

I have tried Next and M&S but both look hideous as I am pear-shaped and the pockets just gape (iyswim?) I usually get my jeans from Oasis in a 14 if that helps.

Any other suggestions for clothes to take for early summer weather please? I normally just wear a tshirt with 3/4 sleeves or a vest top with a cardigan, but it's bottoms I'm struggling with.

I have the weekend to go shopping and then that's it!

Maybe try Gap. They have lots of choice in trousers and summer stock and colours.

Good idea. Thanks. I never look in there, but it does look good for basics.

I'm seconding Gap. Skinny cut ones for the slender of thigh, "broken in straight" for the likes of me. Good range of colours and frequently on offer. I live in my navy, green and burgundy ones when it's warm enough.
