Seen any flattering shorts?

I want some shorts to wear around the garden to get my legs a bit tanned but don't want to scare anyone who pops round. I'm slightly chunky of thigh so no hot pants.

Whilst we're at it, seen any nice bright jumpers or sweaters around?

Surely "flattering shorts" is an oxymoron!

I like the chino shorts that Next do (although size down) and Boden's bistro shorts, although they are quite short shorts. They do chino ones too come to think of it.

Gap's "sexy boyfriend" (bleurgh) shorts are great, though I'm not sure if they've started doing them yet this year. They're basically just normal shorts shape - not hot pants but not into frump/weird bermuda shorts territory.

I second the Next and Boden chino shorts. The Next chinos can have the turn up rolled down slightly if you want them a tad longer!

Bistro shorts are really flattering.

Zara have some lovely denim ones. Long enough for decency, short enough for tanned legs

I like Boden shorts. I have some Gap shorts too, but Boden look best on me.

I do not have amazing legs. "Sturdy", I think, would be the most apt adjective. Or possibly "functional".

I haven't tried Boden shorts, I may give them a shot. Though Boden sizing has been peculiar lately...

BTW, just got a pair of the Boden chino shorts and they are brilliant. Very similar shape to the Gap "sexy boyfriend" (bleurgh again) ones but in a bigger range of colours - have just ordered another pair.
