What jacket should I wear with this dress?

I've bought this dress to wear to a wedding in a couple of weeks. I hate my bingo wings so need to wear a jacket / cover up. I'm not really a fan of shrugs. Ideally I would love something lightweight in case it's a really warm day and something fitted to help shape me.

I'm at a loss as to what to get down to what colour to look for.

Any ideas? Flowers

You could go for a long-line (i.e. to the same length as the dress, or a bit further) knitted silk cardi with a belt tie. If it has a belt tie then knotting this at the back will give you the fitted shape, but without something as structured as a formal jacket.

Colour-wise will depend on your own colouring, but you should get away with most given the dress is blue/navy. I'd probably go for either a nude pink (classic) or a strong tan if you wanted to give a nod to the '70s trend that has arrived upon us.

Moonlight thank you so much. That sounds perfect and just what I would feel comfortable in. Off to have a google and see what's out there like that.

Would navy look naff? I prefer dark colours as they are more slimming on my arms.

Grin It wouldn't at all, you'd probably just want to make sure the material has a slight sheen to it so as not to look too dark overall given the dress is a midnight blue. Or, you could go for black?
