To tint or not to tint? (Eyebrows)

I have fair hair with blonde highlights and eyebrows are quite fair, pretty unnoticeable really. I get them shaped every few weeks.

I'm considering getting them tinted, just a little darker but terrified that they will look ridiculous?
I had the same, 'safe' haircut for about 5 years or so until I went for a completly different style at Christmas, I've had the same highlights for 10 years, so you can see I am very scared slow to make changes to my appearance Blush

Thoughts?

Buy a cheapish brown mascara and wipe the brush on a tissue and then colour them with that and see if you like the effect I personally do it gives definition and I think looks really attractive with fair hair

Tint
The colour isn't left on long and if you really didn't like it, isn't long until it fades.

Good idea noddyholder.

Go for it! I just did mine and had them threaded and they look so much smarter. I then run a bit of eyebrow gel (revlon) through them in the mornings to keep them in place!

I would say go for it. Just let them know you don't want them to dark and it will be fine. I forgot to say not too dark last time and ended up with jet black eyebrows You could try out a brown eyebrow pencil first if you want to see how darker / brown eyebrows look on you.

IloveCheese11 · 23/03/2015 13:56

Just ask them to do a couple of shades darker than your hair or match to your non highlighted bits as that should look fairly natural.

BIWI · 23/03/2015 13:58

I have mine done, and I look much better for it.

The key is to have a beauty therapist that you really trust, and to tell her that you don't want it to be too dark - then they'll leave the tint in for only a short time.

The first time I had it done I ended up with really dark brows, and it was a bit scary, so now, each time, I emphasise that I don't want them too dark. This time around I emphasised it too much as they've faded pretty quickly!

BIWI · 23/03/2015 13:59

Oh, and while you're about it, have your eyelashes tinted too - it works really well with tinted brows.

castlesintheair · 23/03/2015 14:02

I dye my eyebrows myself every 4-6 weeks. I am blonde, with hard to see eyebrows. I use dark brown and leave it on for longer than recommended. Doesn't look odd at all. It makes a HUGE difference. Give my features proper definition. I also dye my eyelashes occasionally although they are weirdly quite dark.

FoodieMum3 · 23/03/2015 14:13

I'm going to go for it Grin
I'll report back.

I tint my brows and lashes. My hair is medium/dark blonde and my brows are very light. I tint them so they are roughly the same colour as my hair.
It usually looks too much on the first day, but it fades after a shower and looks great the day after.
I use black for my lashes as they are black, but it makes the thinner light ends visible so my lashes look much longer than if they are not tinted.

Frostycake · 23/03/2015 14:49

Yikes! No. I did it once, they looked OK but came out ORANGE in photographs.

I use brow mouse now in dark blonde. much better and an ash-tone instead of a red-tone.

burnishedsilver · 23/03/2015 14:51

Another vote for tinting.

NotLoveActually · 23/03/2015 16:19

No, don't do it! If they're already shaped then try Benefit gimme brow in light, that just gives them a little definition and colour, it's lovely. I'm very fair and find when I get my brows tinted I look like morticia, even when only left on for a short period.

castlesintheair · 23/03/2015 16:34

I think it depends what type of blonde you are. If you are platinum/white blonde then yes maybe go carefully esp if you have pinkish skin tone. If you are more golden straw blonde like me then I think you can go quite dark and it looks good. If I say so myself Grin
