Definitive packing list for hopefully sunny holiday

Am off to Portugal in a couple of weeks and really need some help planning what to take - I am a chronic over packer and now that I am travelling with Two DC (and DH) , self catering and in reality probably staying in most evenings I really need to be a bit more realistic!
We are there 10 days - weather permitting we will be taking the DC swimming, visiting beaches and having a few smartish lunches.
Anyone care to share what they would typically take?
I have been doing a wardrobe revamp and losing weight on BIWIs Bootcamp so have plenty of options!

Ok, I am on holiday now in the Canaries. This is my list
Warm stuff plus blankets were left in the car for our return to the UK.

At the airport I braved the few minutes getting from the car into the airport with a cashmere stole.
two pairs of pants.
Two tops
and two pairs of shorts/ cropped trousers.
A warm fleece or thin anorak. As it can be cold at night.
Thin Cotten dress
Trainers
Sandles
Socks
Hat
Sunglasses
First aid kit, containing Paracetamol, scissors, vinyl gloves, plasters, boots after bite.
Tankini.
Box of English Tea
Makeup and Suncream.
I buy shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the country I am in as they are dirt cheap.
Then you also have the clothes that you travel in. I usually wear a cardigan and a baggy multicoloured top( doesn't show the dirt) leggings and ballerina pumps. I wrap myself in the cashmere shawl.
Remember that it can be hot so everything can be washed, and it will dry quickly, so you don't need much stuff.
Every thing I brought with me was colour coordinated. It was either navy or white or black or multi coloured and went with Navy, white or black.
You can't wear anything except Cotten as when it gets hot man made fibre sticks to you.
Have a nice holiday.

Thanks for your reply and sorry mine is so late - just got caught up at work and am only just revisiting my list.
Yours looks good and much more minimalist than I ever manage - the trouble is I have stuff that I just so look forward to wearing on holiday that I want to pack it even though it's not essential.
I do also seem to get through clothes quickly as I have sticky fingered toddler in tow - and do t want to be washing clothes constantly.
So after all that defensive pre amble - current list is -
1 bikini
1 swimsuit
2 very casual dresses (pool / beach)
1 kaftan ( not Essnetial but new and gorgeous)
Beachbag
2 x cropped trousers
3 t shirts
1 smart ish day dress
White boyfriend jeans
1 maxi skirt
1 maxi dress
1 jumpsuit
1 lightweight jacket
One cotton jumper
Birken stocks
Flat sandals
Heeled sandals
flip flops

What do you think ? Ludicrous or acceptable? !

Portugal can be cold in the evenings at this time of year. Take more than one jumper/cardigan and possibly some closed in shoes.

Thanks Peach - yes that's a good reminder - we have been at this time before and you are, right. To be honest we will be at the house most evenings due to DC but are hoping for a couple of nights out so I don't want to freeze.
Hoping to travel in something like converse ( need to purchase) so can keep my feet a bit warmer in those if required!

Gosh I think you have a lot of shoes and clothes on your list. I have a pair of flip flops for the pool and a pair of converse and sandles. Plus long thin trousers and an anorak

It will be cold at night and possibly wet. Sorry.

I didn't realise you had a toddler but even so I rinsed my GS stuff and mine out every morning after my shower ( the stuff came in the shower with me) and it dried very quickly.

For future reference I would take a note of what you did wear and what You didn't.

After travelling abroad for zillions of years I think I have got it down to a fine Art.
I also collect clothes all year that I will find useful for a hot climate.

I am off again in June for three weeks, but will probably take the same amount of stuff as it is a Hot/ Beach/ sea/ sand holiday. No sightseeing
Best of luck and have alovely holiday.
