Wedding Guest Outfit Help

Been invited to a wedding mid May and am clueless as what to wear. The issues are:

  • wedding ceremony is at 5pm with an hour off, then dinner at 7pm
  • venue country house/ stately home
  • bride is Chinese and vvv glamourous
  • anticipating bride will do outfit changes so no white, red, pale colours
  • groom is Eastern European so not traditonal English wedding

My issues are

  • will be just post ivf (definitely bloated)
  • don't like wearing things with legs/clevage/back on show
  • would prefer maxi

The time of the wedding has me more confused, in my mind most of the action happens in the evening so it would make more sense for an evening outfit or do I go for a more daytime looking outfit? By dinner it'll look slightly odd.

Many thanks!!

Something like this could be dressed up for evening or down for day.

The block coloured gown with jewellery would look great. Trying to subtly find out the wedding colours so I don't look like a member of the wedding party.

So glad that someone else agrees no hats no florals. I think I will definitely hunt along the evening / cocktail wear.

Will definitely be avoiding red. Bright pink really suits me but I think Its a bit too close to red. I am leaning towards navy dress with bright pink bag or something to brighten it up. On the other hand I think green with gold accessories could look good. I love the style of Tethersend's dress (great style as always) but unsure of the colour.
