Help me find the perfect, streak free, subtle faux tan

Now the sun is making an appearance I feel it's time to start warming up my pale skin

I'm looking for a fake tan that's isn't too dark, doesn't streak, is easy to apply and lasts well

A friend recommended fake bake, but there are so many. Can anyone recommend one?
Another using St Moritz, but I didn't get on with that as it ended up all over my bed sheets.

Does anyone have one they would recommend?

St Moritz is ok but has a tendency to go a bit streaky and I think it looks a bit orange. Personally I don't think you can beat St Tropez - the mousse is excellent and the gradual tanning lotion is lovely for a more subtle glow. In my experience St Tropez never goes streaky and I've tried loads of false tans.

Does st tropez come off on your sheets?

I would prefer an everyday one really

Ckarins After sun with self colour is pretty good.

*Clarins

I have recently been using cocoa brown 1 hour tan in dark. It's not dark at all so don't be put off.
I'm very pale and it goes on steak free and develops to a natural glow. It's amazing and I'm totally converted Grin
£7 ish in superdrug iirc

wigfieldrocks · 24/03/2015 07:50

Yes clarins is good - the one in the pot particularly (can't remember what it's called) but it does smell a bit biscuity. St Tropez do an every day tab which is a lovely golden colour and doesn't come off on sheets.

Woahbodyforrrrm · 24/03/2015 13:47

I've gone from St tropez to St Moritz to Cocoa brown and I'm really impressed with it. It's very natural looking!

Sandgroper · 24/03/2015 13:49

Hi

I have Fake Bake sports was about £20 from memory goes on really easily and doesn't stain the sheets. It says every day but I use every other day and gives a nice glow. I have pale skin!

However it stinks, I wish someone would make an odourless fake tan!Hmm

SocialMediaAddict · 24/03/2015 13:50

I used St Tropez everyday. Streak free. I really like the Palmer coco butter one. Cheaper and streak free too.

Note to self must start slapping some one.

I love the loreal sublime range. foolproof

love st tropez too but £££££

RL20 · 25/03/2015 11:27

SocialMediaAddict I'm guessing you meant 'slapping some on' and not slapping someone! Ha ha Grin.

I love Sienna X tan although I haven't used it for a while as it can only be bought from salons. It's worth it though!

I've worn fake tan for years.
Everything from St Moritz to Clarins and all the price points in between.

Cocoa Brown is excellent particularly as it's not expensive- the gradual one is perfect for daily tanning.
I also rate the Dove one that you can pick up in the supermarket- I have both shades (light and dark options) and use depending on how much colour I feel I need.

I loathe the Garnier ones- I find it too greasy and it stings (on me) for some reason. I have used it when stuck with nothing else to hand and it's fine but I find it uncomfortable and need a shower asap once the colour has set.

The biggest factor in fake tan is exfoliating and application IMO.

Chicinwellies · 25/03/2015 22:09

I've tried them all. Ive washed them out of my sheets and scrubbed away the l'eau de digestives. By far, over any, James Read they do a face and a body one (white and gold packaging and you can get in m&s). Odourless and dries instantly . Love!!!

burnishedsilver · 25/03/2015 22:18

Both the dove tan and the st tropez everyday have no effect on my skin apart from leaving a smell :-(

Clarins is the best I've found so far.

frankietwospots · 25/03/2015 22:47

I've just bought some of the James Read sleep tan mask stuff for half price in TK Maxx.
