M&S Flares and .... DMs?

OK, bear with me, it's maybe not as bad as it sounds.

My M&S flares arrived today from the UK, they're a good fit and pretty flattering. The length is good too and with a 3-4 inch heel they are just off the ground so I don't need skyscraper wedges.

Thing is, I'm off to NYC next weekend and it's pretty cold there. My best walking boots are DMs with a heel like this and I'd love to wear the flares too. They are a perfect height with the flares but you can just see the toe peeking out. Am I going to look like myself in 6th form?

I have been wearing mine with concealed wedge trainers, it does look like I have just regular trainers on. A part of me also thinks it's me circa 1999 but I had nothing but positive comments

I wear my floral dm's [just normal flat dm boots] with black flares and they look great!!!!! They will look good with them with the heel too!
