Sudden puffy bags under eyes - Watf?

These have suddenly appeared out of nowhere and make me look 10 years older Hmm

It started with some dry skin/eczema under my eyes - now the area under both eyes is noticeably raised.

Is this normal ageing? Is there anything I can do? If I go to the doctors will they think I'm nuts?

Could it be allergy related? I'm sure if they just came up it won't be a sign of aging! Have you been using a specific cream there?

I get puffy eyes too, but I've always had them, they slowly have gotten a bit worse with age and lack of sleep probably. I haven't found anything to really help yet.

My sister had this recently; dry patches which swelled up and looked wrinkly and baggy. She went to the doctor and it turned out she had a specific condition which needed addressing with topical creams. I would go and see your GP as the first port of call, and don't try putting anything on to remedy it yourself until they've ruled out similar. Can't remember the name of the bloody condition (been wracking my brain) but I think it happened post virally and was subsequently exacerbated by stress.

Your eyes are very important. Your GP will not laugh at you/think you're nuts!

Blepharitis! That's what it was called. (Thank you, brain).Smile

And it was caused by a bacterial, not viral infection...if you're prone to conditions like dermatitis, you might also be more at risk.

Just been to doctors - she reckons its a dust allergy (were having building work done) and has prescribed anti-histamine & steroid cream. Phew, eye nags may not be bags may not be permanent and I don't have to ditch all my make up!
