Face serum for slightly dry 30-something skin - recommendation request

I have quite dryish skin (particularly during the winter) and like to use a serum underneath my moisturiser. I have been using the Body Shop Vitamin E serum which I think is abit meh OK but I don't think I like it enough to buy it again when it runs out.

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced serum for my 33 year old skin? Something that quenches my dry skin would be great.

TIA

Is it the serum or serum in oil you're using?

The Olay Regenerist serums are pretty good and don't break the bank either. And ignore anyone who says they aren't as good as high-end brands etc. They're owned by P&G, who have a huge research budget and use some really good ingredients and antioxidants in their products.

Neals Yard rose facial oil is lovely under moisturiser.
I've used it for years.

Use the superdrug night serum at night (the over 35s one)

My skin is also dryish, and 30-something Wink and I would highly recommend this: www.boots.com/en/Vichy-Aqualia-Thermal-Dynamic-Serum-30ml_1457239/

I have used much more expensive serums that I have not liked as much.

Sali Hughes mentions it here as well: www.theguardian.com/fashion/2014/jul/26/beauty-excellent-new-dehydration-serums among a few others that might be of interest.

Bioderma Hydrabio is good. Escentual sell it, and have 25% off all March. About £16. I'm older but it's the best I've tried.

I binned that Body Shop Vit E Oil in Serum - it gave me the odd pimple (which I have never really had). I've just moved to Loreal Laser Renew, which feels good. I don't know if I'm looking younger, as it's been a week, but I like how it feels and it's easy to put moisturiser and foundation over the top of it. I also like the M&S Age Repair w collagen serum. It's v gentle and moisturising.

I love the Vichy one too. On my fourth bottle, and I always chop and change.

Vichy all the way here too. Its lush.
