Can I please have your opinions on these dresses? I'm a bit concerned people are going to think they are too "Look at me!!!! I want to be a bride!!" because of the colour of some of them. So let me have it now please before I make a tit of myself at a family wedding!! Grin
I'm 42, size 12, 5'6" with dark hair

I love the pink Boden dress. I don't think any of them are too bridal unless it is an informal wedding. Navy dress also gorgeous and a very different look to the other dresses.

TenuousGrip · 18/03/2015 16:48

The phase 8 one does look fairly bridal so I'd give that one a miss (also looks quite heavy for May!).

The all saints one looks quite t-shirty to me, perhaps too casual?

I actually like both the boden ones you've picked, prefer the aqua eva dress of the two/all the colour options. Would wear it with either metallic sandals or pumps if you're not a heel person/depending on the weather (like these or these), a navy cardigan and silver drop earrings. Alternatively would mix up the colours and add coral heels and a coral necklace, potentially with a gold or silver metallic bag so it wasn't too matchy matchy.

Meant to link - Coral Shoes

Thanks for looking - unfortunately I would look dead in aqua and yes, I see what you mean about the All Saints dress - would probably show every lump and bump too. How about this www.next.co.uk/g7v86s2#l32638gl4 ?

Coral would work with the navy if you still like that one - would brighten it up and make it a bit more spring.

Not too keen on the next one, think it's a difficult colour to wear (but appreciate you may suit it perfectly!).

What sort of shape are you? As you've already picked out navy boden I think this is quite nice, or you could look at somewhere like Closet? They have quite a broad range (some nice spring prints and some more fitted like your next link) and are good for delivery/returns so you could order a few to try and send back if needed. Otherwise, not to everyones taste, but something like this or this?

I love the pink all saints one. I want it!

The boden selina dress looks lovely on. I have one. It's lovely in real life.

AnitaPooh · 19/03/2015 12:37

Thanks all. I'm not big on flowers Tenuous so the Boden one you linked to had me running scared, having said that I quite like that last dress you linked to - but would be worried that it's too cheap!??! I might order that just to see, you can bet nobody else at the wedding will be wearing it. Wink
I agree - not sure if my colouring would suit the Next one - you know the way you either suit cream or white but not both, I probably suit white... but not sure.
The Boden selina dress you linked to iniac is nice but I think would be a bit sack like on me. I think I suit fitted shapes more (kind of hourglass figure that looks like a sack of spuds unless my waist is clearly defined).

One or two possibilities on that Closest website Tenuous, I'll have a closer look now and report back.
