It's for dinner and drinks, thinking of nude shoes, it's to highlight some weight loss size 18- to size 14!
Smile I'm also 5ft 7 and I'm a pear with excellent boobs!

Thank you City, that means a lot especially as I had to do the dreaded selfie!

Really like the Asos blue dress.

The dress in the OP looks grim enough on the model, on a size 14 it would be disastrous.

Twinklestein · 20/03/2015 17:07

Sorry, I skipped a page.

OP - honestly, it's not flattering. I'm sure you're really attractive but the dress emphasises your tummy.

MikeTheShite · 20/03/2015 17:11

Okay thanks twinkle

Mike if you like it and feel comfortable and confident that's the main thing! Spanx are always a good idea (everyone forgets I hold their tummy in after a while!) and a good bra

Photo is much better than a dress of that price and quality should!

Have a great night out

TheCowThatLaughs · 20/03/2015 18:24

I think it looks nice. Op's "tummy" looks fine to me

MikeTheShite · 20/03/2015 18:39

I knew I was never going to look like a catwalk model in it by

It looks good. Your waist is nipped in. Can you stand side on and check yum and bum?

WipsGlitter · 20/03/2015 18:48

Yum = tum

BuzzardBird · 20/03/2015 18:51

I think you look much smaller than a 14 in that dress. If you feel great in it then you need to keep it. Hope you have a great night ;)

glugglugglug · 20/03/2015 18:55

I'm a 10 and I wouldn't look as good as you in the dress op. It's all about shape, rather than size (to an extent) and you just look lovely and curvaceous to me. I think the angle of the selfie is slightly unflattering though, but I can see that that's just the positioning. Can you take another picture? Maybe a straight mirror shot?.....just so I can be proven right! Wink

MikeTheShite · 20/03/2015 19:05

Ah unfortunately I'm on the app tonight so I can't post a picture, I'm sure it will look better with spanx!
Thank you everyone

I think you look fab in it.

0x530x610x750x630x79 · 20/03/2015 19:29

It looks lots nicer not slappered up :)

Pippin8 · 20/03/2015 19:31

I think you look fab, even at that awkward angle. I've got this in black. It's so flattering, classy, great quality & really smooths all my lumps & bumps. An ideal notice me dress. But then again I'm mud 30's not 20's!! www.tedbaker.com/uk/Womens/Clothing/Dresses/ELENNA-Embellished-midi-dress-Mid-Pink/p/120025-53-MID-PINK

gingerbreadmam · 20/03/2015 19:32

mike have you looked at hybrid dresses? they are a similar style but a bit more classy yet still show off your assets?

amy childs is also worth a look, has some massively tacky stuff but the odd nice piece.

well done on the weight loss bet you look fantastic!

MikeTheShite · 20/03/2015 19:33

Thank you Smile I shall have a look at everything suggested

passthewineplz · 20/03/2015 19:35

It looks loads loads better on OP, than the --tangoed-- model.

M&S so some great control tights in nude, and with descent underwear you'll look fab!

gingerbreadmam · 20/03/2015 19:35

Just realised was a pic so logged on for a nosey, colours are much better in real life and looks like it shows off your weightloss! What colour is your hair?

TRexingInAsda · 20/03/2015 19:38

I really like that dress, I think it'd suit your figure (and height) well with nude heels it'd be really nice. I agree the website hasn't styled it well with the orange models, haha! (Sorry models - maybe it's the lighting/make-up as well).

Pippin8 · 20/03/2015 19:39

Yeah what is your colouring? You could wear nude shoes & a jacket & nice jewellery. You should totally go for it, I look back now & think I wish I wasn't so hung up on my body when I was younger & made the most of it.

thornrose · 20/03/2015 19:43

Linking to a dress that is over £150 when the OP linked to a dress that is less than £21.95 seems a bit....pointless!

gingerbreadmam · 20/03/2015 19:47

I looked on hybrid all a bit boring tbh so went to my usual go to, asos as well and saw this m.asos.com/mt/www.asos.com/ASOS/ASOS-Pencil-Dress-With-V-Neck-And-Metal-Belt/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=4697516&cid=8799&Rf981=3679&sh=0&pge=5&pgesize=50&sort=1&clr=Black&totalstyles=873&gridsize=3&un_jtt_v_frompage=5

Dont know if your still looking or if black is a bit boring Smile

The dress looks lovely that you have ordered though and you are only 25. If you love it and feel good i say go for it. I was a size 16 (pregnant now, god help me after this) and those bar the straps as i hate my arms were the style of dress i favoured and always thought i pulled them off (hope haha)

Pippin8 · 20/03/2015 19:50

I only looked at the pic of the first dress, not the price. My bad. Although, OP didn't say she had a budget & did say she had a wedding coming up later in the year.

thornrose · 20/03/2015 19:55

Oh sorry I'm in a funny mood. I don't know why I posted that. Apologies.
