how to get rid of scars from insect bites

I know - my life is just impossibly glamorous sometimes. Grin

My legs are a disgrace and it's spring so I might conceivably want to get them out in a couple of months. Last summer the cat brought in fleas and in the space of one evening my legs got bitten over and over again (insects just love me...) before we could treat the cat and the house. Eeeurk. We had another mini-infestation a few months ago so I have another round of even fresher red marks to contend with. The bites are obviously no longer active or itchy but the red marks just will not budge. Thoughts? I've heard good thing about Vitamin E for scars but I'm not sure if that will work on this type of thing.

I found only a sun tan shifted it. Once the tan faded so did the bite marks.

Oh that's an interesting thought. Do you think it's just something about the fresh air and Vitamin D from having your legs out in the sun that speeds up the healing process? I hadn't even considered that ...
