Hush - I always feel good in it

Having read a few posts on Hush I have to say I just love it. I've been wearing it for a few years now, and I love the timeless signature classics like the Long Harems and Dolman Sloppy Joe sweatshirt, which wash and wear well time after time. Each season there is always at least one particular item I get really excited about, and for winter it was the parka which I've had so many comments on. Its rare to find clothes that are really comfortable that you also feel good in and I have to say Hush have absolutely nailed it.

they're ok, prefer american apparel though

BillStickersIsInnocent · 17/03/2015 19:01

I like the styling but the quality is a bit dodgy. I'm wearing a pair of their cashmere mix harems right now and they are so comfy but the waistband stitching came away after a couple of wears.

Also have hush boyfriend jeans which I do like but they're not terribly flattering - I think I don't have a big enough bum.

MrsPeacockDidIt · 17/03/2015 19:28

I have to say I've got almost every page of the latest catalogue turned down. I really want some long harem pants and the coral star jumper in particular. The jumper is on a 8-9 week wait though.

dottyaboutstripes · 17/03/2015 19:29

Everything is HUGE though!

hauntedhenry · 17/03/2015 19:38

I love hush too, but the quality does vary. Might have a look at the website now actually Grin

BallroomWithNoBalls · 17/03/2015 20:26

It's treading a fine line at the moment - the prices they are charging suggest high quality, but a lot of the clothes are very poorly made. The denim items this season look terrible, and the viscose and polyester dresses are really bad and at those prices, they are taking the mickey not using cotton and silk.

Style wise it's one of my favourite shops but I do think it's shoddy. I wish they'd improve their fabrics and their quality in general, because the style is fab.

I have a dress in two colourways which I adore from Hush - it's elbow length sleeves, boat neck, dip hem, fitted and in cotton/elastane with raw edges. I have it in cobalt and in black and white stripes. I wish they'd make more items in the same lovely thick fabric.

GoingHomeNow · 17/03/2015 20:33

Yet to be convinced. I bought a loads of stuff for the first time recently and it's mostly going back tomorrow.

The denim dress has really tight forearms, I don't have big forearms. Thanks Hush for another thing to be paranoid about.

The black coated mini is lovely, but my god it is titchy. I'm not afraid for a short skirt, but it's very short.

Jeans are possibly the ugliest thing I've put on for a while. They stayed on my body for half a nanosecond.

The black wide leg trousers are ok, but I think h&m do a nicer pair for 20 quid.

The White start shirt is lovely, but is really copper, I was expecting gold (but I may not have read the description, I've done that before....)

GoingHomeNow · 17/03/2015 20:38

Actually I'm not afraid for that skirt, that 'lil number will be fine

And it's a Star tee, grrrrrrrr

almahart · 17/03/2015 20:56

I bought some nice stuff at their sample sale but a lovely jumper is super bobbly only a few weeks on. I was pretty surprised at how thin the fabric of some of the trousers was too. Did get a lovely jersey blazer though

wigfieldrocks · 17/03/2015 20:59

Hmmm, I have two jumpers from Hush (sloppy ones) - terrible quality that shrunk in the wash first time ?? it's put me off buying anything else from there

afghanda · 17/03/2015 21:00

I really wish I was the right shape and style type to wear things from Hush, but I would look like a giant dowdy moth in every single item they sell apart from the pyjamas.

SconessMcFloness · 17/03/2015 21:07

I like their styling but quality has been poor....it's really frustrating.

PrimalLass · 17/03/2015 21:11

The tops are ok but the trousers are too small at the waist.

carlywurly · 17/03/2015 22:43

I love their cashmere shawl scarves. Live in those. I think the clothing quality has deteriorated in general though. I have a cardigown from a few years ago which is lovely. Bought another colour in later seasons and it doesn't compare.

CliveCussler · 17/03/2015 22:47

gosh. I was just on the verge of ordering from Hush for the first time. Not so sure now. At those prices I really wanted good quality.

Turquoiseblue · 17/03/2015 22:59

Agree their website and styling is lovely for casual relaxed wear. Have some lovely bits (Catherine dress and last seasons quilted dress) and love their basics but agree re quality is very variable - I returned a dress and top on the basis of such poor quality material- HOWEVER .....their customer service is second to none.... Which made the whole process easier and I ve already ordered from this seasons catalogue too!Grin

Hopefully · 17/03/2015 23:04

Their quality can be amazing, but their knitwear seems to be universally shit. Their long Jersey tops are fab though, lovely thick jersey.

WagonWheel · 18/03/2015 16:10

Totally agree that their knitwear is universally bobbletastic. I complained to CS after one of their sweaters pilled uncontrollably after 2 hours wear (and no, I wasn't running a marathon at the time, just typing Confused). This was the best part of a £90 sweater, too. CS were actually very bad at dealing with the complaint, asking me to send macro quality pictures via email before they would even look at the issue. As you can imagine that went down well with me and I told them as much. Long story short I got refund but no apology. Have not ordered from them since. Too many retailers around to spend my heard earned cash on poor service and questionable quality.

gracielooloo · 18/03/2015 20:36

I bought the relaxed trousers albeit in the sale but still £30, they are so thin. I kept them but wear leggings underneath. I have a pair more or less exactly the same from Asda for a tenner, love the look of the harem trousers but wouldn't buy from them again.

clutterfly · 18/03/2015 22:29

I too love the style but am often disappointed with the fit (everything's too big) and the quality is very poor. 10/10 to them for such great models and styling though because I keep trying...
