Polyester

I'm no natural fabric nazi - I don't mind wearing viscose, and I actively dislike linen as it creases so. But what's with all the polyester around atm? It's just so horrid-feeling, and it makes me one whiffy as fuck. How do people actually wear it next to their skin day in and day out?

It's horrible. I expect it when I'm paying £10 but I'm now seeing 100% polyester on items that cost a few hundred.

Well, I AM a natural fabric nazi and this whole tsunami of polyester is baffling. One of the worst culprits is Whistles, which regularly design otherwise lovely clothes except for the fact that it is a) polyester and b)£150. Like, really? What is the point of polyester summer clothes? No no no.

Amethyst24 · 16/03/2015 22:28

YY Saurus, I was in Whistles today and was like WTF?

It's depressing isn't it. Amazingly, I bought a couple of sleeveless tops made from thick cotton from Bon Marche the other day. Normally their clothes are a bit too frumpy for me, but their basic T-shirts and vest tops are far better quality than anywhere else I have looked.

I'm afraid I hate polyester. I think it just looks cheap on people, and I can't stand the feel of it against my skin. Acrylic is marginally better and I don't mind it in thermal tops.
