Find me a dress

It is my SIL's 40th in a few weeks and I need a dress. It's in the evening but more edgy East london than party frocks. I'm a size 10 top 12ish bottom half. 5' 5". Boobs are 32E, quite small shoulders. Although I sound pear like my hips are actually quite slim but my thighs are a little chunky. I want something down to the knee with sleeves as I hate being cold and I think I'm too old to flash my my thighs. In terms of colouring I'm quite pale with greeney blue eyes, blondish shoulder length hair, freckles at the moment I'm trying to do that Alexa Chung long fringe thing. My waist is not my best feature as my body is a bit rectangular, but my bum is ok, my thighs are a bit chunky. What sort of thing do you think?

Wrap dresses are very bad on me, for some reason. Arms not great generally could do with losing a stone at the moment. but I hate being cold and hate anyone seeing my armpits (not sure why but I hate that bit of skin between armpit and arm. I have the tiniest wrists ever. I have lots of a very lovely simple silver jewellery. I'll try and take a selfie now. Just tried but it is harder than it looks.

Laska4 it is a nice dress but not really my style a bit pretty. God this is hard to define - I guess I like shifts and I like colour blocking but looked at Cos and it all seemed a bit shapeless.

green again long sleeve , simple cut bargain would look good with silver jewellery

What's your budget and what shops can you get to?

£400 but a good saving

I like skimming rather than tight, before my DC I had a distinct style and I liked quite sort of pared back beatnik look but now I'm not a size 6-8.

Armpit covering V Westwood?

Prepared to go to about £120 because I have get the tyres on the car fixed this month! I do have a dress I'm thinking of which I can take a pic of.

Can't really get to the shops so online. Had a quick peek on atterly road but the stuff I like was very similar to what I have.

Oh thanks love the All Saints and the Vivienne Westwood and the SportMax one - I think the colours on that might be good. Alexander McQueen would be a great work dress and is a bargain

Dress I have that I could wear - slashed sleeves and deep cuffs. I like it but I wear it so often I'm sick of it.
