Can you mix fabrics dyes?

I've got a nice 100% cotton jacket which fits me well, but the colour is hideous on me (it's a beigey grey stone colour)

I would like it to be coral. Dylan do an Orange dye, but it's a bit too orange. I was wondering if I could mix dyes to get a coral colour. Can I do this? Which colours would you mix?

You can mix dyes. There's a chart here which gives indicative recipes. I would use one packet of powder pink (assuming you are using dylon shades) plus a quarter of a packet or maybe a bit less) goldfish orange. You might also want to use a colour remover first so that it's a neutral shade, otherwise the beigey grey will affect the colour you get.

Yes done this many a time to get the shade I desired.

Just to add the thread used in your jacket ie hems button holes etc, will more than likely be polyester thread, so won't dye.

Thank you, that is very helpful
