Help, new hair cut = pouffy hair

Just that really. I had below shoulder length wavey hair that I did not straighten/curl/style and had that undone look. Said I wanted it to sit just above shoulders but retain the general low-key feel. The (lovely) hairdresser then took off about 4 inches, taking it to graduated jawline bob. It looked beautiful when I left the salon but now I've actually washed it myself I'm at a loss how to manage it. How can I take out the volume? I tried to blow dry it but seemed to just add "pouf" to it which is the opposite of what I was trying to do! It needed the weight to keep it in line I think. I said I didn't want too much off as it just springs up...exactly what it's doing now.

So, I need technique or product suggestions please. I can't use silicones, ruling out most serums, and I have fine hair so I'm a bit nervous of oils. I really don't want to have to start straightening it every morning. I do have a babyliss big hair but don't know which products to use with it. In the cupboards i have curl cream, hairspray, salt spray, serum, various leave in conditioners, mousse. Big meeting tomorrow morning and I need to look more presentable than I do now!!

Have you a picture of it maybe?

Straighteners? I use Moroccan oil and it's fab, tiny amount on the ends makes a big difference and tames my naturally curly hair when I blow dry it.
