Clothes that nip in with shape?

I'm having a hard time dressing myself lately. Due to two IVF attempts over the last year I have put on weight and am struggling to lose it. I am larger of nork than I used to be but still have a waist. I'm a 16 top and bottom (5ft4) so think I need some clothes that are more fitted? I have one Joules top from a couple of summers ago that I love seems to just hang flat or make me look bigger? I'm attempting to lose weight but still want some nice clothes while doing so. Also have a holiday family in May. Any help gratefully received.

That should say I love the joules top, it's fitted, everything else seems to sit flat and just hang. Thanks x

What about trying some shirts? i've been wearing them a lot lately. Am a reasonably slim hourglass but getting a bit wobbly round the edges in my middle age. Fitted blouses/shirts flatter my shape, without clinging to the bits I'd rather camouflage. I also feel less conspicuously booby in them.
I've found them in Gap, Uniqlo, TK Maxx - curved hems are good and definitely avoid anything with a balloon shape and gathered hemline.
pencil skirts are always good.

Cropped fitted cardigans are also good.
