Help! Crunchy curly hair.....

I wash, use a blob of serum and then Boots Curl Creme but my hair goes crunchy! Is it simply a case of using too much curl creme, but if I don't use enough I just have frizzy hair. Or does anyone use any other products? I have super thick hair which is a complete nightmare at the moment and it is doing my head in!

Boots curl cream is crunchy. If you use it diluted in water it is less crunchy. I put it in a spray bottle with warm water, mix & spray on.

I used to love Toni & Guy twist-it curl balm, worked wonders and not crunchy at all. But it was discontinued, I haven't found a replacement.

Aussie Curl Serum...

Are you scrunching out the crunch? Boots curl creme dries crunchy but then if you scrunch the curls it should go soft

FaFoutis · 13/03/2015 21:11

Haven't tried that, thanks.

Scrunch the crunch? No I haven't been doing that....!

Maybe that's where I'm going wrong.

I scrunch in one/two peas worth of body shop coconut hair stuff, then a big blob of boots curl creme. When dry I scrunch out the crunch with a bit more coconut stuff.

I use Boots Curl Creme. Once it has dried then it is a bit crunchy but if I run my fingers through my hair then the crunch goes.

I use Body Shop brazil nut hair cream - not crunchy at all.

I use Twisted Sista curl cream

Palmers Curl Extend Hair Pudding is fab, and its paraben free.

How wet is your hair when you apply it? How do you dry it?

Scrunching the crunch doesn't work for me, but you might want to google it. Basically, you use a little bit of serum or oil and just gently scrunch the hair to loosen the crunch.

Like I say, it doesn't work for me. Any kind of scrunching gives me super-frizzy and uneven curls. I've been having more success recently by applying my product when my hair is really wet. Brush through my hair so that it clumps into nice, even curls and then NOT touch it. That's the only way for me to avoid frizz.

I mx curl creme with the same amount of conditioner and scrunch through my hair when wet. Works well.
