Over here, my hags.

RudyGrin What are you going to see?

Don't worry/get jealous about your DH's, Crepeys - the boot should be firmly on the other footWink

6pm, you say, MI?!

Sounds like a great evening - enjoy, Rudy!

motherinferior · 02/04/2015 17:10

Is it nearly 6pm yet?

I have suggested egg and (oven) chips for supper.

Rosebag · 02/04/2015 18:18

I agree with Tilly…it's the DP's/DH's that should worried….although we will of course get well and truly torched by the MN judge and jury aka The Relationships Board….. GrinShock

Gone 6pm? Easter weekend is well and truly declared. Go partaaaayyyyy MI!!!! I have dispatched my lot with DH to a local Italian as, for my sins I am teaching tonight. No Easter eggs for dieters Angry

Stropperella · 02/04/2015 18:26

Happy anniversary for yesterday, Rudy - and have a lovely time tonight.

I used to be married to a Colin Firth lookalike and other women threw themselves at him all the time, even in front of me. Once I'd realised his one true love was booze, I didn't feel very threatened and after a while felt like saying "Oh go on, take him off my hands, it's fine." Grin

Sorry to hear you've gone down with the evil cold, BTM, hope you feel better soon.

Auriga, hope you are restored to good health. Another new job? Have a brilliant time in Paris!

Glad to hear the Ypres trip went well, Lalsy. Did you go to the In Flanders Fields Museum, by any chance?

Herbs, sorry to hear that ds has a new and not very wholesome friend. Hope the teacher will stage an intervention..

I like Berlin, but last went there so long ago as to be not much use with any visitor info, sorry. I have friends who live there who are mad vegan naturopaths and going there is revisiting the odder bits of my youth, back when Birkenstocks were most definitely Not Cool and I was a feminista with a girlfriend. Well, and a mad boyfriend. At the same time. Not sure dh would be entirely relaxed with visiting those friends. Grin I took dd when she was about 3 and we had a fairly, er, alternative time.

herbaceous · 02/04/2015 18:33

Right old cock up. Head of year staged an intervention, but got the wrong end of the stick, and told both J AND C off. Their teacher quickly interrupted, and said 'no no no', but by then the damage was done, and C is v upset.

DS was off in a dance workshop, randomly.

I have eaten some Easter egg tonight, and plan to eat more. Plus wine. Off to Bristol tomorrow morning to stay with two sets of friends over the weekend. Ace.

Strops - GrinGrinGrin

I have just come back from Hateful Tesco and have forgotten the tonic water (but remembered the limes). AIBU to send DD2 over the road to Small Horrible Tesco to get some? She has been in her room all day drawing.

Blackduck · 02/04/2015 18:44

MrsS send her over...

Dp works with lots of bright young things but I'm sure they just view him as an old man Grin
I have never been jealous, indeed, he once said he'd be late home one night and was so late he actually turned up 24 hours later and aside from wondering if I should phone A&E (this was in the days before mobiles) I didn't turn a hair.....

Stropperella · 02/04/2015 18:51

Yes, MrsS, send her over - assuming you can get her out of her room. :)

QueenQueenie · 02/04/2015 18:58

Just catching up here, from my place on the sofa, after a day of being out and about in the Fresh Air. Am now gagging for a stiff g and t - and most happily have gin and limes and tonic to hand. Chin chin Crepeys.

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/04/2015 19:03

She just came out of her room complaining that "There is nothing to eat in this house." There is bread, crackers (several different types), cheese, hummous, jam, ham, pate, bananas and a box of chocolate and almond brownies. None of these will do. She wants biscuits and crisps. I almost never buy these, because I don't really eat them myself. There is also a delicious box of Polish chocolates, and she sneered at them as well. Think I will go back to Poland in the summer, maybe with DD1.

lalsy · 02/04/2015 19:03

Stropps Grin. And yes, we did, they've redone it recently for the centenary, I thought it was excellent and thought provoking and impossible to get lost in.

Herbs, what nonsense, poor old C and thank goodness for random dance. We had similar - I evaded out of school socialising with those children and the 'friendships' fizzled out. I felt sorry for them too - but......- and it was so obvious how calm and cheerful they were with 'real' friends.

QueenQueenie · 02/04/2015 19:10

Posted a helpful link signposting the op of this thread here to us Crepeys...

CointreauVersial · 02/04/2015 19:11

Ahhh..... ten whole days away from the coal face. DH is en route from Thorpe Park bearing a car load of screechy 14yo girls so I need to enjoy the peace while it lasts.

Jealousy? Nah.

Berlin, hmm, can't help, I'm afraid. I'm busy researching Norfolk, though (we leave on Tuesday) and have fingers tightly crossed that the weather is OK. DH is muttering about not wanting DS to miss next Saturday's match (it's a league decider, but at the relegation end of the league, alas) and is seriously contemplating getting up early and driving back home on Saturday morning with DS for the match, then back up to Norfolk for the last evening. "Dim View" doesn't even cover it. Angry Angry I know what will happen - DS will refuse to come back, and DH will return grouchy and knackered after 7 or 8 hours on the road and with relegation inevitable, just in time to help pack up for the return home.

I can't believe the first week of the school break is nearly over. DS and DD1 have been out quite a bit with friends, but DD2, poor lamb, has been ditched by her primary school gang, so has barely left the house all week. Sad Her new bezzie has been away all week, but is back at the weekend, so I've invited her over for a sleepover.

Stropperella · 02/04/2015 19:38

Lalsy, my cousin is putting on an exhibition there this autumn for the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Loos.

bigTillyMint · 02/04/2015 20:13

Hope you sent her out for supplies, MrsS!

CV, I feel your pain - that is exactly the kind of thing my DH would do.

DD has some mates round. She says they were revising, but I'm not so sure. They are currently eating pizza in the kitchen with loud music playing. DH is forcing me to watch the debate...

lalsy · 02/04/2015 20:33

How interesting, Stropps - what sort of organisation is doing the work?. It is impossible not to be drawn in - the history is all around.

BTM, no-one should be revising on Maundy Thursday evening [bangs gavel].

ds gets home from belt-wearing trip tomorrow from his belt-wearing trip - he is planning ti hit the books next week after a weekend of choc and tv to aid his recovery.

herbaceous · 02/04/2015 21:43

Have you been drinking, lalsy?

I have. Though not much. Even so, I can hardly keep my eyes open during the leaders (mass) debate, so have decided to come upstairs and dye my hair. This may have been an error of judgement.

OP posts:
CointreauVersial · 02/04/2015 21:54

Is the debate still on? We are watching First Dates on catchup. Blush

addle · 02/04/2015 22:35

Row going on here because dd upset that dh proposing to drink in moderation and drive us to the 21st dinner - she says shows la k of commitment to having fun and we shld get taxi. As sooften I'm caught in the middle. Dd says its because I'm pliable which I suspect is the biggest insult of all Bt hvnt the energy to tackle.
Thks fr Berlin comments xl

bigTillyMint · 03/04/2015 08:06

CV, DH insisted on the debate, but when I left the room, I put First Dates onGrin I was so disappointed that girl didn't like the fireman - he was lovely!

AddleGrin Does she think her dad is going to party like her student mates?!

Barbarella · 03/04/2015 09:15

I started a thread about my neck and QueenQueenie pointed me in the direction of this thread, thank you. There is nothing one can do about a crepey neck is there?

Barbarella · 03/04/2015 09:16

I'm looking for hagsnet basically, as I feel like am heading in general direction of haggishness...

MontserratCaballe · 03/04/2015 09:36

Welcome Barbarella Smile. You may have found your spiritual home. Please do stay and chat.

Neck - a combination of scarves, necklace, attitude, distraction with earrings etc are your choices. I have looked into this and, whilst creams etc can make the skin look better, it is superficial and the only true fix is surgery. Botox and fillers cannot be used. So, embrace your wattle, dress in a way you like elsewhere and settle down for chat with the Crepes. I am one of the newer crepes, having only been here for a year or so, but everyone is very helpful and supportive.

Am off to Sussex now to stay with my ma and see my poor old dad in his home. Hope you are all having a restful BH.
