Before I was pregnant I was wearing 34F and by the end of pregnancy 40FF but now I just have no idea. I stopped expressing two weeks ago so is it ok to go and get fitted again or should I wait a bit longer? Thanks

I'm intrigued by the sizing change you experienced if I'm honest, where were you fitted?

Have you noticed much change since you stopped expressing?

ElphabaTheGreen · 12/03/2015 21:22

That is a very weird size change. You went up one cup size despite BFing, but three dress sizes? Confused

I was a 30F pre-DC1. I'm currently BFing DC2 and I'm currently 32H. Big cup size change, slight increase in dress size. I would have thought that was more typical with proper fitting.

Resoundingly unhelpful, sorry, but I agree you possibly weren't fitted correctly at some point and need to go back to the drawing board! (Maybe one month after no longer expressing?)

34F to 40FF is not just going up 1 cup size as the cup size is relative to the back size I.e. A 34F is not the same cup size as a 40F

40FF would be the equivalent of 34H so an increase of 4 cup sizes

thebetterbracampaign.blogspot.co.uk/p/fitting-advice.html?m=1 - tells you how to measure

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 12/03/2015 22:51

I was measured at John lewis prior to pregnancy as 34f and then at bravissimo at 34 weeks as 40ff. I thought your rib cage widens in pregnancy so normal to increase band size.
Haven't been measured since giving birth. I wanted to know how long it takes for boobs to go back to 'normal' as I don't want to buy bras that won't suit long term.

I did think the 40 back was probably bigger than needed but I thought bravissimo were normally decent fitters-certainly way better than M&S...

I was advised 6 months from stopping breastfeeding until your boobs will be properly settled, so maybe buy one or 2 cheaper bras now rather than a full wardrobe of them!

StatisticallyChallenged · 13/03/2015 12:31

I was a 28 pre pregnancy and a 34 at my absolute biggest, but I did gain about a band size in the last 6 weeks which seems to happen to a lot of people if the bump is fairly high. So it might be that Bravissimo were on the generous side at that point as they were expecting your ribs to flare even more IYSWIM? Certainly when they fitted me in pregnancy the bands were a bit looser as they fitted to allow for a bit of growing room (so fitted on tightest hooks rather than loosest)

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 13/03/2015 17:04

That sounds right Statistically-high bump as had 10lb baby. Will wait 6 months before splashing out but will self measure to find right bra for now. Thanks!

wait 6 months after stopping sounds a lot - mine went back to the original size and stayed there in the matter of days.
