I am in desperate need want of a new day dress and a few other bits and pieces actually. I need something to brighten myself up a bit. I am looking for something to wear during the day /PT work/PT at home that is funky without looking like I am trying to hard and not frumpy. I am 40 and a pear shaped 10. Any idea? Not asking for much am I?!

Try whitestuff. Some of the new collection is nice.

Try Zara and H&M.

Thank you both. I have never shopped at whitestuff before. What is their stuff like for sizing?

I tend to like clothes that I am now worried I am no longer able to carry of due to age and that they will have that frump warning.

E.g. this dress from the whitestuff website dress

Monsoon have gorgeous day dresses, very flattering

Oh and i am a pear shape too. Its a great dress. My only issue would be what to wear on my legs since its so light. Probably a pair of nude tights and wedges would look lovey. You might get away with navy tights and wedges. If the look is heavy with the lightness of the dress, you could try a slightly see through navy tight and wedges. Nude tights or bare legs and wedged neutral sandals.
